I think you would be very interested in the Fusion Rev 4's.They have gone back to an upper that can accommodate a wider foot. The cushioning is superb. The only issue (and the reason I don't wear them now) is that the bootie style upper has a similar issue to the NB Lavs. There is just slightly too much give in it and it loosens.

Do you mean in these colors?
(Only in clay version afaik, slightly different than the all grey/blue)

What don't you like about them? Because on paper/pics they seem (for me) exactly what I'm looking for..
I was looking for replacement of the discontinued vapor x. This is a stripped down, lower quality shoe to begin with. The insole is sealed at bottom. This point out how many steps a d parts Nike had skipped. The fitting is not comfortable especially at heel. The mid sole was super hard. I can’t run or. I’ve around at first time I put it on. It’s not issue to wear in. It’s not pain to wear in. my feet just don’t trust the shoes and been afraid to run as usual. You have to try to find out.

How do they fit? Are the sizes correct? How do they feel cushion/feel wise? And how is the 'side flange'? Do you think it is sturdy enough to give support and prevents (sort of) rolling over when sliding?

The same as the white and black ones i bought 2 months ago
But to be more specific, they feel to me like the vapor X, size wise they are a few mm longer, got more space in front but not as much to go up a size. On court they feel fast, light and i dont have any issues with them. I have to tie the shoelaces a bit more than with the vapor X otherwise i get some light heel slippage. Thank god these shoelaces are longer than with the Vapor x

Non "easily" removeable insole. This is a slightly lower budget flagship shoe. Its great for game day.
Seriously, so the insole is glued in? This just sounds like a budget Vapor X. I want the real Vapor X?
Hopefully ON release Fed's tennis shoe soon so I don't need to buy Nike anymore.

Does Nike usually restock? I missed the boat on the teal clay ones (I’m Canada based and they were available through Nike Canada) but now all sizes are out. Or should I buy through alternative retailers in Europe (painful, but willing if they don’t restock here in Canada). Any info would be appreciated Thanks!

I'm surprised to see some colors selling out so fast. Normally tennis shoes are available till clearance!! Wonder if the grey blue will be restocked in more sizes

Has anyone tried calling Nike? The Nike line used to be able to find shoes in stock at any retailer and get them out to you.
The last time I called was when the Vapor X Wides when out of stock. The Nike rep told me they were no longer in inventory but was still able to pull up the info by style number.

Anything to do with that container ship still in Egypt at the Suez canal? Local authorities took posession of the ship after it was afloat again and only letting it go if the owner pays for all the costs made. I know the nike clearance stores here in Holland depend on it and even one of those stores has almost empty shelves for weeks now :-( never happened before haha (or maybe once when they had great discounts and i visited )

Lol the ON looks nothing like the Vapor X. Sounds like youre after the image not the fit. Which is also fine
Yeah not bothered about the ON not being like the X, I'm just sick of Nike shoes. I don't think they care about tennis and I think they make a cheap product and then over-charge for it.

True. I frequently wonder how much better shoes can really get... and if 120-ish is the most id ever pay for a pair regardless.
It seems like companies just mess with the style and fit more than the performance.... none of those are really attributed to higher quality materials or craftsmanship.
I think the last great frontier is mid level companies (Wilson, Head, etc...) finally getting closer to the ceiling but now they are charging premium prices too. Its all a strange storm that usually leads me to fleabay

In the last month I've been having some Achilles tendon issues, which have progressively worsened to the point that I am not able to play. At first I thought that it might be related to two very demanding matches that I played in the span of 5 days (the first one lasted more than 3 hours, the second one more than 2 hours). Usually I don't play such long games and I was really exhausted and sore. However despite proper rest and resuming only light activity, there is no improvement.
I talked about this with my physio and she pointed out that these issues appeared more less when I started playing in new shoes. Nike Air Zoom Vapor Pro. So I started looking at this and I spotted something that looks strange:
Notice how at the moment when the heel steps on the ground and the sole is loaded, the shoe kind of opens up and widens around the ankle. This drags the rear part of the shoe forward and compresses the tendon. With every step that I make.
At least that's what I see, but maybe I'm just paranoid? It happens when I simply walk, I could easily stick my fingers on both sides of the ankle and at the same time, I feel slight pressure on the tendon. Basically it behaves like this:
Has anybody noticed the same thing about the Air Zoom Vapor Pros? I have zero knowledge about shoe mechanics during gait, so maybe I'm just barking at the wrong tree. However I checked my old tennis shoes and it does not happen, it also doesn't happen with any other casual shoes that I have.
I'll be grateful for any feedback. Maybe someone can check if they have the same phenomenon happening

Just tried on my Nike Vapor X (previous model of this shoe with different upper). They don't seem to do what your shoes are doing.

You should consider posting the question to Foot Doctor Zach on You Tube. He's has a video on the Vapor Pro and seems to be responsive. Please post back here if you get an answer.
Personally, I think side gaps indicate a poor fit and would try a smaller size or different shoe.
I actually have a similar issue and will sometimes have Achilles tightness after I play. Are you using the top lace holes? Hard to see from the video.

Just got a pair in the mail today and I totally agree. I used the X and now using a last pair of X knit. The Vapor pro feels like a much cheaper simplified shoe than both and not in a great way. They're more narrow and squeeze near my pinky toe on both feet where the X and X knit didn't at all. And they're longer in the front in the inside. It is a cheaper cost shoe but didn't expect the upper to be this cheap seeming. Haven't taken them on court yet but not as confident with these on my feet.
They also crease or bunch up in places making them look and feel cheap due to the thin mostly one piece upper

Unfortunately Foot Doctor Zach has not published/accepted my comment in the Vapor Pro video. So no feedback from him.
Meanwhile, I took the shoes to the Nike store where I had bought them here in Barcelona and explained the issue, even showed the video. They agreed to give me a full refund on a voucher that I have to spend in their store. So that's how my story with the Vapor Pros ends. I might go back to the Cage 4s, but the summer is so hot and humid here, these shoes are just too heavy and bulky for these conditions.
And anyway, my tendinitis is still not healed , so not sure when I'll be able to play.

Very interesting question you pose and I hope you get a good answer, as it would be something for us all to look out for with different shoes.
Good luck, mate. Maybe use the voucher for some casual or running/gym shoes and look to another brand if the Cages don't suit? Especially when in the midst of dealing with a health issue, go with the best shoe available for you, regardless of brand, to hopefully keep you playing tennis.

I tried on the new Kaos Swift in store. To me it felt like a more comfy Vapor. Definitely more cushioning underfoot, but still wrapped around the rest of it and made for speed. It's a little narrow for my foot but I still find myself thinking about it because it was nice and I wonder how it would break in. And it looked great. Wilson crushed the cosmetic on that whole Kaos line. But in the end I think it's smarter to go with a tank shoe these days more than a stealth shoe, given that I'm training more than playing league matches these days. But that's me. I think anyone into Vapors could be tempted if they try on a Kaos (can't speak for the non-Swift versions, though, as that's the only one I tried)
