I think I got a sneak peak at the new Lav or a new offering from NB.

Sorry the quality may not be the best. But it’s got that clear/ice outsole and it seems like a Ubersonic 3 upper with a kind of Vapor Cage 4 midsole + lateral stability piece.

Looks like there is a more structured heel.

I never had a problem with the herl.or herl.slippage like I have had in some other shoes. Would love an update to the shoe, though. I am not sure between the Lav and the Turbo gp for next hard court shoe.

That heel collar looks taken straight off the BreakrV1 that was pulled from releasing this year. Looks like its taking some Cage 4 cues in pulling the tread pattern up around the midsole in spots. Maybe thicker Fresh Foam in the heel and a revised external heel counter? Looks like they went back to a more traditional tongue given the removal of the pull tab in the back. I missed the first test period on these so I'll have to see if NB opens a second run of testing for it.

Hope the heel is more stable on these than the originals. For me the heel would flip over really easily on side to side movements. That’s a red flag for me because my right ankle tends to roll really easily.

These look more promising than the v1s in terms of support and durability. Huge nb fan so I will def purchase when available.

They have traditional tongue?

Semi. It’s attached in the bottom half. If you didn’t like the full sock liner style of the current Lav, you’ll likely like this better. Top of tongue is a little odd. It has really wide wings that wrap around almost to my ankle bones. I had to pay attention and make sure they didn’t fold over when cinching up the laces

I like the bigger logo, only wish it had more graphic details the way nike does to the swoosh. As long as it is not on the forefoot of the shoe, it's good with me.

I'd say Aussie Open timeframe is most likely. I'm testing it right now as part of the 2nd round of reviewing, but the original internal testing window from NB was back in April. In my past experience with their program, shoes are usually 6-9 months away form release when the first test window is opened.

Have you worn the 1st version previously?

Yes but it has been awhile. The V2 feels like an iterative update as opposed to a major overhaul although there are a few noticeable changes. Shoe has Fresh Foam X now but I think the heel height is even higher than the V1 and I don't love it so far. It pitches you onto your toes. I know other shoes like the ZZ, etc have a similar setup, but this one feels more imbalanced. I wore it side by side with one of my GP Turbo and the V2 felt significantly higher off the ground. I also miss the full sock liner of the V1 but that's subjective bc people who didn't enjoy that will like this new model more. The shoe still has thick cushioning but coming from using the ZZ and GP Turbo mostly, Fresh Foam still feels noticeably firmer IMO. I would have liked to see them possibly use Fuel Cell or a combo of Fresh Foam and Fuel Cell for a bit plusher feel underfoot. I've only used them a couple times but I haven't noticed any decline in stability compared to the first version. Still a little bit of heel slipping though.

I'm sad to hear about the high heel putting me on my toes and them doing away with the full sock liner. I guess I will head back to Nike..

Yeah I was hopeful bc I enjoyed the 996v4 when I tested it last year and I don't love the GP Turbo. Coming from ZZ and the Turbos, it is hard for me to want to switch back to shoes that use firmer styles of cushion. NB had a super super comfy Fuel Cell shoe that was pulled from releasing this year (wasn't durable but was ridiculously comfy) and I had hoped that some of the direction they were taking would bleed into the LavV2. I also love the sock liner style now and don't want to go back to traditional tongues. The LavV2 is a bit of a compromise, as it is kind of a "half liner" where it is attached at the bottom part inside the shoe but up top is more of a regular tongue. The sides of the tongue are huge though and wrap oddly far around to my ankle and regularly fold over, forcing me to adjust them.

How is the fitting?True to size?Toe box roomy, wide and enough height?

Fit is similar to the V1 Lav. Maybe just a tiny bit long but nothing major. Shoe was tight across the midfoot initially but loosened up after a bit of play and was more comfortable. I had plenty of room in the toe box and the height was fine, especially compared to the way the toe box on the GP Turbo is built.

What size shoe are you? Narrow foot/wide foot?

I hate messing with my tongue during a match...I also didn't like the gp turbos for a bunch of reasons and am sorry to hear about some of these changes. As you mentioned I love the cushioning, support, stability, and durability of the current shoe.

is the forefoot cushioning better? I've found the freshfoam in the lavs tend to give out on my around month 3-4. The forefoot especially seems rather low. I'm considering making the move to zoom cage 4's specifically in the hopes that the forefoot zoom cushioning lasts longer.

Also noticed that stock on the NB website is running low, hopefully i can use Lav vouchers on the Lav 2.

Hope they contact me. It seems a little late in the game to be making compound updates

Yeah I was surprised. I went into the portal just to check if anything was available and saw I was already entered into this test. Didn't get any email notification or anything from them so they must not have shipped me the shoes yet. Does seem odd to be testing sole compounds at this point. Given my prior test, I'd rather they re-design the new tongue.......

Just got the shoes today and they are labeled for 2022 so I suppose that explains the sole durability testing they are doing. I thought the last colorway I got was out there but this one is even more "interesting".........

and Barcelona. They look kinda bulky but I look forward to trying on a pair. I typically enjoy NB shoes. They may have even been a good fit for Grandpa Roger

I'm surprised. I didn't expect to like them so much. If they come in a happier colorway, I'll get a pair.

Yeah I had two different color ways while I tested the V2. Both were “a lot”. The one described above and the first one I tested was a blue/purple/black combo.

They were also testing a translucent sole compound for 2022 that was actually pretty cool looking.

Thinking it is a mistake but the V2 in White & Laser Blue popped up as available on one retailer this morning for $150. Either everyone else will show it soon or it will disappear bc it went up too early.

The early sale is gone now. They only showed a couple pair each of a few sizes. All the other sizes said they should be in stock in late June. I wonder if that’s the potential release date, since Brittany had said “probably not before June” earlier in this thread.
