Oh boy.Sorry if it’s already been posted.
She doesn't like the spotlight and can't deal with the press...I loved her till this mess about boycotting the press. Not interested anymore.
Money talks. She used to strike me as one of the sweetest, funniest, most likeable personalities in all of sports, and now she comes across as just another stuck up diva complaining about the minor inconveniences associated with a lifestyle affording her millions of dollars and just as many fans.
is this a joke? is she retired already or something?Sorry if it’s already been posted.

It’s smart in a way, only allow PR-sanitized soundbites and puff pieces about yourself to be released. Why bother even taking the slight chance that something negative could happen? She doesn't like the spotlight and can't deal with the press...
Here is my new Netflix series about it.

The funniest part is she is wealthy, famous, and so in demand that she can absolutely get away with it.
Exactly. My comment was about the overarching trend in Western society today. The dream is no longer to be rich, famous, and loved. The goal is in fact to be beyond reproach whatsoeverWealthy and famous people in positions of great power over us do the same thing, so why worry about someone of no consequence?
It’s sad, I’m 100% sure Naomi is going to be the “dog whistle” athlete for thinly veiled attacks against social justice and the younger generation. The female LeBron James in ways.
Didn't Borg do that one time, shortly before retiring? I don't think this is the end of the match here though, looks like the score is just becoming 6-5LOL did she just run from the court through the back gate after losing?
While you're here, you never did explain to me how "young Hingis was a dirty player with frequent unsportsmanlike conduct" compared to Graf, when this instance of Graf exists:
And serena is extremely gracious every time she loses??This is who certain people think is the female GOAT?? LOL
Good on her. Look forward to watching this.

Exactly lol, I don't even watch that much WTA these days, but I always had a blast digging through her interviews. And you accurately described a press conference as a "minor inconvenience".She used to strike me as one of the sweetest, funniest, most likeable personalities in all of sports, and now she comes across as just another stuck up diva complaining about the minor inconveniences associated with a lifestyle affording her millions of dollars and just as many fans.
We need to boycott all things Osaka to preserve our mental health.
Boycott all things Osaka? Might I recommend this thread then? Goodbye, no more Osaka threads for you for your mental health. I’ll be greatful to not see your constant whinging about her.We need to boycott all things Osaka to preserve our mental health.
very suspicious indeed. usually a documentary and autobiography is released after the player has retired. Now they are doing it while playingSo does this strike anyone else as suspicious?
They have had a documentary in the works all along about Osaka's mental health struggles and the pressure she faces? And just before it releases, she pulls these stunts withdrawing from slams to preserve her mental health, thus generating more interest in this snooze-fest production from Netflix?
What a coinky-dink
One of the most likeable dudes lol.If only the press would behave like this at her interviews she wouldn't need to boycott them!

She has an autobiography too? That strikes me as very arrogant, at her age. I used to be a fan, but I’m slowly losing my interest.very suspicious indeed. usually a documentary and autobiography is released after the player has retired. Now they are doing it while playing
It would be pretty funny if she did literally play by her own rules. "I get infinite serves and you get one and I win games with one point but you need 50 ROFLMAO ner ner nerner ner."Details for those interested :
it's a 3 part serial releasing on July 16, titled Playing by her own rules
