Josh mentioned back in January that Babolat was planning to release addtional flag racquets to celebrate the Olympics. Don't know if the pandemic has affected that though.

Hi Bill,
No, unfortunately I don't. As I'm sure you can imagine, everything in terms of product testing and development has been pushed back as we do our best to catch up on demand of our current products. I reached out about it recently and was told there will not be any update until the Fall, and I haven't heard a peep about specs or launch date. It will be a new frame as far as I'm aware though.

Still no update unfortunately. Everything is such a mess right now with production, shipping, the situation at the ports, etc, that I don't know if, when or what we may or may not be getting. I will let you know when I hear something.

Let's not mess with the Pure aero rackets. Weight , balance and Swing weight was basically perfect.

Unfortunately, no I don't I know there won't be any released this year, and I have not heard any news on when in 2022 they will launch. Everything is still such a mess from covid as far as supply chain and manufacturing, so it's hard to know apparently. I'll let everyone know when I can. Thanks!

Keep the 2019 as long as possible in my opinion, it’s a killer racquet. However Babolat seems to be on the right track with their racquets the past few years and I think they will handle the 2022 well.

I am running into problems with new babolat Pure drive 2021 grommets and bumper guards. I can't find it anywhere, and TW doesn't have it either. do you know where i can get some ? I have broken the head bumper of my new pure drive 2021 and i really need to replace it. Thank you

Because it adds weight to the head, i don't like it. When i get new rackets, i usually need to make it more head light, not more head heavy. some say, head guard Tape only adds miniscule amount of weight, but i notice the difference.

Yeah, so you counteract that minimal weight increase in the hoop by putting a little more weight in the handle. If you are that sensitive to the weight, as @djNEiGht mentions, you must notice the difference as you wear down the head guard, or use different strings.
Your other alternative, is to dispense with the head bumpers all together, tube all the strings, and place headguard tape over the top.
Otherwise, do what I do, when I buy new racquets, I also buy at least three spare head bumper kits for each racquet. (I bought three 2013 APDs back in 2014 and I still have six head bumper kits for them. As long as the are stored properly, they will last for decades.)

Yes, actually i do feel the difference as the head guard wears down. I like it when that happens since racket becomes more head light

Do you know officially when the current Pure aero line will be discontinued ? and new pure aero 2022 will come into production ? I am trying to stock up on the current Pure Aero so that just in case i don't like the 2022 version. Thank you so much for all you do.

Sorry for the late reply, but I just got back from stringing at Cincinnati. I don't have a firm date yet for the launch of the 2022 Pure Aero family, but should in late September. I hope to have an update on the Strike VS as well, and I will circle back when I have more info for you. Thanks!

So most likely Babolat will continue to manufacture the current Pure Aero line of rackets thru summer of 2022 ? Am i correct in assuming this ? Thank you

I'm going to have to hold off on making any declarative statements on this for the time being, but should know more in a few weeks. Given the ever-changing landscape due to covid, everything is in a state of flux and will be for the foreseeable future. I'll let you know when I know more. Thanks!

i have 4 strips of lead under the head guard on my Rafa Aero.. and it plays wonderful.
as good as my original '04 APD.
I wish they would release the new PA without the Cortex... just like Wilson dumping the Counterviel on their racquets.

yea so that they can lose ton of sales,, right ? most people complain with big time arm issues with babolat rackets due to its high stiffness. they need to add more dampening system, not lessen it.

Sorry for the late reply, but I was waiting to hear back from the gentleman who works with our tour players. This information falls under the personal data clause of the players' contracts, and we have to get approval in order to share any of this information, and sounds like I won't be able to share at this time unfortunately. As luck would have it, I just receivedan update regarding the Pure Strike VS. The tentative release date is January (subject to change of course, like everything these days!) and here are the unstrung specs:
-310 grams
-97 square inches
-16x20 pattern
-310 mm balance
-21x22x21 mm beam
- ~65 RA unstrung on the samples I've tested so far
If I hear anything else, I will let everyone know.

I still haven't heard anything official on the new Pure Aero, but my guess is it will be after the laucnh of the Strike VS in January. how far after remains to be seen, but when I hear something, I will let everyone know.

Not that I really care, but do you think the line will continue to wear the predominantly white paint job?
Here in the Land Down Under we have a very famous Australian Rules football team known as the Essendon Bombers. The club colours are Black and Red. Some of us down here were very fond of one of the previous Pure Strike PJs
