Yup. First Struff who was a seed ranked player less than a year ago fails to make it to the second round, now this guy with his win over Novak fails to make it to the third (is he going to back to obscurity, or what?) how much else of the draw will fall apart? :laughing:

These are the kind of performances that Zverev needs in the early rounds. Spend as little time as possible on the court similar to how Nadal used to crush everyone in the early rounds. Save energy for the big matches.

Gilbert kept going to the Barranquilla’14 Challenger beatdown by ARV as motivation for payback so often that he eventually exposed his cluelessness about Colombian geography, claiming the match was at high altitude. LOL! Barranquilla is a seaport with average elevation of 57 feet.

Berrettini doing what he did last set...gets to the business end of the set and digs himself a 0-40 hole on serve. This time though it means 3 set points for Moutet.

Welp, that set for Moutet secures another bet for me. Had over 32.5 games.

Did well to fight back in that set after going down the break.

Opelka interview was a hoot! He and Isner have glorified the term “Bot” with their Bot Club. It’s a hit in the locker room with other players begging for membership. Apparently, Monfils wanted in so bad he begged Reilly to look at some stats about his aces. Opelka turned him down, saying Gaël is way too entertaining to be a Bot.

I’m wondering if he lurks here and sees all the sledge he and JI get.

Perhaps I was premature on Hurkacz. Neither him or Berrettini look good at all today though.
