Big 3? Who?

This US Open is turning out to be a cracker. Tsitsipas-Alcaraz match set the tone. Monfils-Sinner was full of drama. I don't miss the big 3. In fact the most boring match was Djokovic-Nishikori. I missed Rublev-Tiafoe match.

Tennis will be fine after big 3. Nextgen and NextNextgen are providing top entertainment.

And we've got a new star in Alcaraz!!

Bugger off Big 3. :)

Sure, but they gotta f*ck off first, and the one whose name is similar to Foback Molovich isn't willing to

Hype the moment.

Prediction: We'll never hear of Alcaraz after he exits this tournament (probably in the next round).

The two of the Big 3 that have buggered off for the rest of this season? Okay I guess. But the last one of them is here to stick around for a while. :p
Oh man! Can't stand another year of boreovic. The other two are done. Maybe Zv will have something in the tank.

I've said this before but he won't be satisfied until he pisses on Fedal's grave, digs up their remains and has Vajda gyrate all over them.

So, 30 Slams is the goal. Hasn't Srdjesus already said something to that effect?
Ha ha. Your post made me laugh. I'm crying too.

We've heard about him before, and methinks we'll hear about him again come RG next year.

Mats Wilander has opined that Djoker is getting 21 at NY but that is the last major he wins

I think Djokovic wins 21 here and has another 4 Left in next 2-3 years for a round 25
Yeah I think Djokovic gets 22 or 23. But I’m a year when he’s 35 I think the Meddy crew will have sorted themselves out and stepped up. Took em long enough.

For entertainment value, tennis will be fine. But as the big 3 and the next gen has shown, once the big 3 are gone, the level of play will be lower than it was when they were playing. This Alcaraz guy could be great but I don't think he's at the level of the prime big 3. The nextgen will be competitive with each other, but that's because they're at the same level, which is a hair lower than the level of play the big 3 brought to the sport.

Yes, but if someone wins 8 or 10 or 15 Slams, can't we be happy with a bit less?

Whos the future? Sinner? Blew 6 games in a row to lose a set to a 50 year old? Med/Zverev? Thats basically Berdych. TstTsi? This gen's Dimitrov. Alcaraz. A few months from now no one will even be talking about him

Well, if we use the usual TTW logic (e.g., Djokovic is 10 years younger than Nadal in terms of mileage), clearly Monfils is about 21.

It could be said that Alcaraz at 18 is superior to Nadal's version at that age.
Well, it seems that if in a couple of more years (at most three until Paris 2024) the Spanish legend retires, the tennis of that country will not miss him so much if this boy from Murcia continues in that meteoric progression.

Can he defeat Berrettini, Zverev and Medvedev in a row?
If he succeeds, he will be better than the Australian Rocket!
;)

Right now Dokovic might have to worry about Sock after he blitzed Sascha in the 1st set of their match tonight! A ton of aces and winners with 2 UFE's; 6-3! :-D

Shall we just give Djokovic another Slam to get to 21? That's all he cares about. I hope he'll bugger off after that :)
He may find it harder to motivate himself with the slam record + calendar slam however he's said he will play until at least the Olympics 2024

Maybe he will but I still don't think people will care that much. The standing ovation Federer gets in his last match will overwhelm the reception Djokovic will get if he wins this USO and completes the calendar slam

If he plays like that none of big 3 can stop him. As Tsitsi said, he's never seen anyone play such a good 5th set.

Sinner misses a lot. He doesn't. I think his shots have a LOT of rpms.

Sinner is developing. He goes for too much shot after shot. Berdych never did that. Tsitsi-Alcaraz match was high quality full of drama.

Don't be grumpy. Good times are ahead. The only problem is Boreovic. The other two are done I think.

Bloody timezone. I missed that. He blitzed Zv in the first set? Wow. Looks like he retired. I'll catch up replay on Prime.
