Unfortunately I just switched to the extreme, but I’m excited to hear about the playtest from everyone! Here is to hoping this racquet is a success!

Didn't expect a new line from head! They already have a pretty diverse lineup, though it may replace the instinct? I'm guessing this one will be a nice racket to compete with the clash.

A 16x19 with speed pro like power (that is lighter) would be great for the masses.

Nothing wrong with having a lot of racquet lines. Head has hit the nail on the head with the 360+ tech, so they might as well capitalize on it. Excited for this one. :)

For sure the Instinct either needs a major upgrade or it will be replaced by another racquet line. My guess is on the latter.

TennisNerd recently play tested a new Head racquet. Pretty sure it is the same one:)

However why would you say tight pattern rackets? You think that it would get chewed through in an open pattern setup?
-only way to know for sure is to try it on a open pattern racquet, to be sure
-i only had 1 test-pk, so i chose the best racquet i had to try it on, where it made the best sense "2me"

-most synthetic gut strings, (which this one is VERY VERY VERY close to being most like) do best in tight pattern racquets (for many diferent reasons, IMO/IME)

-so yes, soft strings IMO get "chewed up" quicker on an open pattern stick
-but also the power of this string is a plus on 18/20 racquets

I like the opaque appearance of the string
I do wish I could try the head string though…
- (y) (y)
-the color is nice, but the sound is CLEAN!!,
-i had a guy at the club (who playes exclusively) with natural gut try it out
-just a brief hit, baseline and volleys (after a long match)
-he commented on the softness of the string
-i pushed on this and he said the lynx touch felt softer, i agreed
-its interesting that the string is a POLY
-this is going to be a good option for the young, weaker players trying to transition into polys, IMO
-more play test needed, but i like it so far

Wait... Softer than gut? Impossible.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-thats what he said

-you gotta think also, feel is a "personal THANG"!!
-but think of this : Head-lynx is already a soft copoly, this new h.lynx.touch is even softer!!
-you could change that soft feel by stringing it tight, but it is soft
-what i like is :
--good snapback, slick coating
--good SOFT feel
--good directional control, more than SG or MULTIS

-please note, this is early feedback from my own testing

Fascinating... Something I must feel for myself! I'm kinda imagining a slicker babolats origin

I found this interesting... Lynx is a great poly, already very soft, but has poor tension maintenance. Interested in what this "touch" version can provide that the original doesn't. Is there any shape to it?

Think back to the pre gravity launch with the Massive Sweet Spot...
Gravity is one of the better selling Head rackets..
This new line will be the same..

What do we know about the specs and different models?
Date of release?
I'm guessing it's the frame described in this thread:
There's at least an MP and a Pro, maybe more.

I was just wondering what happened to all of the playtests and then one comes up for exactly the racquet I wanted to try! I can only use Head when I coach, and this seems like a promising racquet! I'll be interested to hear feedback even if I don't get picked. The demo cosmetic looks cool!

HEAD has been slaying it lately with their lineup......I used the Speed MP for 2 years and switched to the Extreme Tour (NITE)....this should be a very interesting hit!!!!(y)

Good find. The pattern didn’t look as open as the Extreme MP (EMP), which is a good thing. And the SW wasn’t as high as the EMP.

When hitting with the mp, there are a couple of things that I noticed. First, the launch angle is very high so if you are a flat hitter, you will have trouble keeping the ball in unless u go up on tension. Definitely geared more toward the beginner/intermediate players who dont swing too hard or have a full stroke. When I swing out with the racquet, it flies on me unless I really put some spin on the shot. However when i swing easy on my shot, I have no problems hitting the ball over. Second, the racquet is string sensitive. I tried it with the new upcoming lynx touch but because the string is very soft, you definitely have to go up on tension at least 2-3 pounds from your normal tension. I did have much more success with lynx tour and other stiffer strings. I felt I could control the ball more. Third, the racquet is very light and swings very light. I dont remember the specs from the top of my head but definitely light. So you may get pushed around against bigger hitters unless u add some weight on it. They are definitely going after the Clash with this racquet as a player-friendly racquet. Just my 2 cents.

The Clash line needs competition badly..
more competition = better products...
And Head has better products...

What makes you think that the Boom is Head answer to the Clash? The Pro seems to be pretty stiff though comfortable according to preliminary reports.
Is the pro 310 or 315g unstrung? I understand it’s a 98 not a 100?
Thanks for sharing, that racquet is exciting, we’ll see how it goes.

I saw and held the new Prestige MP and Pro today. If someone can tell me how to upload photos I will. I took a few. They are a mix of original Prestige shiny maroon in the head and a matte charcoal on the shaft Very elegant IMO. Nothing as weird as the Gravity series, by a long margin. In fact, they're my favorite PJ since the original Prestige Pro mid in the late 80s.

The MP is a 99 and 18/20, I believe and looks like a 21mm beam. The Pro is thinner and also a dense pattern and 98 or 99 sq inch head. I didn't see the Tour and was told that it's a 95 with an open pattern.

Yeah the names have been switched around. There's the prestige thread talking about it, but images wise, I personally use imgur, as it is relatively simple to upload the pic there and post the link here.

It is a very easy racquet to use and I have heard from reliable sources that say that this is the racquet head is using to compete with that market of user-friendly racquets
