If the reference to the past legends and all in her presentation speech is any indication, she wants tennis greatness. I sure hope she does. Even post tax, she should have what $1.5 mn? More than enough to bet on tennis and not hedge your bets between that and education. Chinese mother...hmmm, hopefully she and Emma's dad will both support her going fulltime into tennis and not pressurise her to 'concentrate on studies'. She can always go back and get a college degree later...if she needs one. If she wins five or more slams plus decent endorsement earnings, she won't.

That's rather much. I would certainly not comment on her chances there until I see at least a few matches of her in that tournament.
I would say it's way to early to say. Could be a wild overestimation, perhaps even most likely is. I don't think we've seen enough to make long term predictions on Emma. But what I have seen, she's got soooooo much going for her that 5+ slams wouldn't surprise me.
With the endorsement earnings coming her way now, I think she can flop at tennis (she won't) and still be set for life. Anyhow, I sense she's going for greatness too. Not a one slam wonder at all.
Erm, what? Her coach admitted he was coaching right after the Osaka-match. Whether she saw it or not or wanted coaching or not, has no bearing on the warning. She's "responsible" for his actions.

I think her coach told her to smile so she doesn't get so worked up and emotional. Her emotions showed after the loss and I did see a little diva in her wanting the attention of the NY crowd. But hey, she's young and its understandable. We saw some promising young talent (men and women) in this years US Open; ladies finals and Holger Rune, Botic van de Zandschulp, and Brooksby.
So how long would the curse last I would expect?
Well , not all of us can be put in the same bucket. I never hated her (Serena or Osaka?) from the beginning and not now. But I do dislike any player's diva attitude (bad behavior) or just being mean.
