Looking at the racquet, this seems like a Blade Pro competitor but with a lower SW and higher RA. Maybe more of a platform offering than the BP (which people have complained about the high SW).

You also say it feels much plusher than the RA indicates... could this be a version of Djokovic's actual racquet with a 98 head size and platform specs? Looks like a box beam, 22mm, has that LM/Ti/ i Radical throat design and handle connection... which looks like the Wilson BP (H22 being a copy of the Djokovic Head racquet in a 98 head size). Fingers crossed. The top of the head seems flatter, which could be them bringing back the Pyramid head shape (at least the top half).

Very exciting!!! I'm looking forward to your further posts and more info and impressions. Thanks for posting the pics and the info so far. I saw the Tennisnerd video first and got excited... hoped there was a thinner beam 98 version in the options... then saw your post and info.

I think it's more how RA is a very specific measure of flex (can't remember if it's single point, or something else), but I would hazard a guess that this is just a reverse of how people were saying that Head were trying to "game" the RA measurements during the early Graphene era by giving it a weaker throat etc.

Or how the PT2.0 is 65RA but still plays similarly to the original PT630 which is supposed to be ~58RA

MP is 100 but 2mm wider. Pro is 98. Pro feels great. Closer to a Prestige 16x19 feel.

@Raizu, is it foam filled? Or is there other magic solution to hide the stiffness?

Tried the pro today in the actual paint job that will be releasing. VERY sweet. Did not have RA posted on the frame and I took it for a hit, would have guessed that it were 63-65. Came strung with lynx touch and feels good. Hit the biggest serves of my life for sure. 22mm box beam and man, this thing has a great feel and great sound off the string bed. No arm tingles with rubber band damp. I could switch no problem… but new prestige is out around same time and very intrigued by it this go round as it use to be my main stick years back. For frame of reference I currently switch between new Vcore 95, blade pro. New tec is evident in feel. Best head offering to date and I’ve played a lot of them including gravity pro.

3pts headlight strung so I added a leather grip got it further down. With that, damp and OG it came in at 338g. Can’t measure sw but it “feels” around mid to high 320s. About perfect in my book.

The head portion is very far from being a box beam.
The throat is a flat beam rather than a box beam.

I don’t think the stiffness number is correct - I believe Raizu got one off or his machine is not right. The racket is definitely below 65 strung.
Head does not use foam.

Let me kill the buzz and hope for you - the racket has nothing in common with Djokovic’s frame. Totally different purpose and market. Not only that it is the teardrop design but very different playing characteristics and layup

The pro is a 16x19 string pattern, 330 grams strung static weight, and a less hl balance so right there are initial differences to the vcp 97D without even hitting the frame.

The rationale is to reach as much of the market as possible as opposed to the Babolat 3-line approach which is about drawing the market to you.

I just don’t think the gravity head shape translates to a 98 frame. Gravity line is defined by the size and shape of the sweet spot. I can’t imagine that working in a 98.

Like I said in my original comment. I don’t think the racquet plays at all like a 70 RA. In fact I though we messed up when the MP had a lower RA but we double checked it. It definitely plays like a low 60’s frame.

You're probably right. That being said, it's not the teardrop head shape I would love to see in "gravity 98", it's the feel of playing and holding the Gravity Pro frame. The PMP+ is great and I really enjoy it, but it doesn't feel the same when I play it, and it's also different to hold (esp. in the throat area). The GPro reminds me of frames like the EXO3 Tour 100s, i.e. thin and roundish beams (imo they went overboard with the Phantom, as they are too thin in the throat area).

Now, if the new Boom Pro has a prestige like 16x19 feel, then this sounds like a great addition to their 98-lineup.

Thanks for that. Nothing killed. What matters is if the racquet is good or not. I've got heaps of racquets anyway, so if it's nothing like it, that is even a great thing. I won't get tempted.

Agreed. But definitely worth testing. I use the PT57A (16x19) as my main stick and love everything about it. Testing the Boom Pro was easy transition and felt great. Only thing I struggled with was the accuracy however, the string job was different (I use hybrid with gut in the mains and Hawk rough in crosses, the test racket was with Lynx Tour)

Currently play testing the Boom. Plan on doing a comparison between it and Clash, Warrior, and some racquets I will order to demo such as PD, maybe Radical and Extreme, and Instinct (which Boom is rumored to replace). Any other racquets anyone would suggest comparing it against?

Maybe skip the Instinct since it will supposedly be gone, and I would skip the Extreme because they are a different class. But it might be a good comparison to the Speed.

Boom is not “replacing” the Instinct line. It is just the new line of rackets. Instinct to fade away…no new development

Good points. Curious I guess as to where this is intended to slot into line they already offer. So far impression after every hit is Boom’s power. It’s definitely not a low powered frame.

I talked to a local pro shop yesterday and he was sharing some of the same information about the new head line that we have all read here. He said one interesting thing about this frame though - he said that this is Head’s answer to the Wilson Clash demographic. Has anyone else heard the same?

I saw the actual frame today. Nice looking, but a bit too.....~~girly~~ feminine, especially for the Pro & MP models. I'm not going to take those, but will go for the lighter models.

Also saw Instinct as SMU frames; looked a bit cheap but then they are aimed at the mid price point.

Damn!! I just received the finished product of the Pro and thought it looked nice. Now you have me looking at it differently

On side note, not sure what to think about the new Lynx Touch string, jury is still out but I am not blown away.

Look at this manly man not going to use a racket based on it's cosmetic. By all accounts of this thread this racket seems to be a winner, definitely going to demo it asap
