From a Rafa fan to a Fed fan...

Let me be the first to say congrats to all you Fed fans out there. He played his butt of today and really stood the barage that Rafa sent his way. I became a Rafa fan in the first set today and just loved watching his style of play. But I must confess that the winner was a deserved one today. Roger showed he's a champion and the greatest of all time.

Yes, a Rafa fan just admitted that the Fed is the greatest ever.

To paraphrase Andy Roddick a few years ago, my man threw the kitchen sink at your man today...and your man went and got the tub....

I used to question whether Roger had the emotional toughness to win if pushed hard in the fourth and fifth set. He showed today he has all the toughness that all champions must posess.

Sleep well, Fed fans...you earned it...and we'll see you in Paris in '08....

Good to see. Nadal fans get alot of stick on here thanks to all the trolls but it's good to see they can still appreciate Federer, we're all lucky to be watching tennis in this period of both players making history.

Yeah, I don't think any rational person can deny that Federer earned his Wimbledon 2007 title, fought tooth and nail to get it.

Nadal though is the future of tennis, for sure, and he has arrived.

so what? Paris 08? already chicken out for the rest of the US Open season?
still a year to go till next Paris. :p

Chicken? No...lol.

But I will be honest. The surface here at the big W was better for Rafa than the US Open. I am not a person that would talk smack unless I strongly feel that a player could take it all and not look foolish in rattling my sword. I feel confident as can be in Paris. As for the US and Aussie Opens...there are a lot of players that could take Rafa out early and not meet Roger in the finals...

case in point: James Blake...he has Rafa's number as of the recent past.

yes, he earned it. and his emotion every year when he wins it shows the value of wimbledon to roger. it is a lovely thing to witness...

...it as if he got to hold his child for the first time.

i like seeing people reach and attain their dreams and goals and he is one person that has certainly done that with style and grace...

The trick is to not let Federer play on house money. Rafa comped him a hold in the fifth twice, Roger bet big, and won. Many people can't stand on the court with Federer, not the case with Nadal. Nadal was stupid in the fifth, which he paid dearly for.

i'm sure that he will remember 2-1 in the fifth and 40-15 and that forehand he bull-whipped into the bottom of the net. johnny mac pointed it out and i'm sure you/we don't need to point out the obvious.

the point of the thread was a sincere contrats...not an analogy of the match. all of us rafa fans will remember that shot until 2008.

again--congrats to the fed and all his fans/admirers...they truly deserve to gloat today....

What a nice post!

From a Fed fan to a Rafa fan, Rafa drives me a little less nuts than he used to. ;) No, seriously, they are both awesome. LOVE THEM ALL!

I'm glad you've mentioned that because a lot of haters would immediately like to dismiss it as "sissy" behavior from Federer. What they don't understand is that every great champion has emotions and upon reaching milestones like these they're bound to react in this manner.

Both played well. But Federer was the better. And in the semis befpore i'm sure Nadal woud have lost against Djokovic. But Djoko was too tired.

You're right....

Rafa can beat anyone, but many can beat him also...

Fed can beat anyone, but only Rafa can beat him.... (mostly)
