I'm just here for the Octo/Beatles battle.
I never battle Octo, I actually like her. I find it mildly amusing that she defends Verdasco against lousy behavior solely because he's a Spanish player. Had I had a colleague tell me Stan or Zverev gave her an STD it would be met with mute silence. It's quite predictable but it's OK. I'd love to lift some pints with Octo in her favorite pub.

By the way, has your ex-colleague gone to the Verdasco family restaurant and given a decent tip?

The Verdasco family has been in the restaurant business for 150+ years.
"The Taberna La Bola is a Spanish restaurant in Madrid which has been serving great Spanish food to locals and tourist in the capital for over a century. To ensure they serve the best, traditional cuisine of Madrid, this restaurant uses historic recipes and top quality ingredients. ...Up until 1802, the building had been used as a liquor store and bar...In 1870, the establishment was taken over by the Verdasco family who transformed it into a restaurant...Since then, the Taberna La Bola has been handed down over the generations of the Verdasco family and is currently run by the sixth generation."

I went to this restaurant once, knowing it was owned by Verdascos family. It was pretty good. Had some very dated pics of Fernando on the walls.

The food was a lot better than at the Novak Djokovic restaurant in Belgrade, which I also went to a few months later

Love his straight arm forehand and how hard he hits the ball, unfortunately it takes more than that to win slams.
He's a headcase and has underachieved his entire career. :(

He doesn't seem to care. I guess he's always been one of those players who just likes to enjoy himself, win or lose.

Verdasco is one of the sorest losers I've ever seen. One of the most self-absorbed men in tennis with a horrible, crude style of play.

Completely overrated by the generation z crowd - biggest title win Barcelona. Huge choker.
Just a wild guess. You’re a fan of Kyrgios?

I wrote on TTW a long time ago that I'm rooting for the Spanish tennis players and their Davis Cup team.

The 2009 Davis Cup team is showing off salad bowls (Nando & Rafa next to each other), I believe they had a great party:

Nearly everyone on this team looks like a playboy tbh, only Verdasco used it to his advantage.

Must add a period at the end of a statement or period. My YouTube channel on comprehension also has a punctuation section. Check it out sometime. You might find it next to your most watched tennis videos: "Why was Djoker not successful in his early years on grass?"

It’s a semi-legit hypothetical to wonder what Fiasco’s career would look like if he was allowed to take his ADHD meds.

Dude, reading through this thread @CYGS was such a d-ckhead lol.

What was that guy’s problem?
I'm just glad it can no longer reasonably be claimed that Mad Lad is Baghdatis' equal or lower lol. And seeing that this happened in March you can tell TTW was still busy mocking the guy for the AO final.

Glad I wasn’t here for that. TTW is no exaggeration you’re only as good as your last match.

but I disagree, peak Baghdatis > Medvedev can still very well be reasonably claimed by some fans. I have learned that everything is possible when using the eye test.

To be fair, he 100% deserved the criticism for that performance.

His mentality heading into and during the US Open final was a significant improvement, but some of it could be marked down to Djokovic's incredibly lackluster performance.

He underperformed in the final but got eternally labelled as a mug, with those 20 consecutive wins prior immediately becoming a distant memory. It's almost like it was the first underwhelming Slam final in history, and that's not deserved to me. And I'd love to say people eventually ate crow, but many of them who supported Medvedev in this year's finals wanted to see the other guy denied more than anything else, so there isn't much point doing that.

On the flip side you had Djokovic fans claiming it was another super strong win despite Med playing like hot garbage. So it's swings and roundabouts really.

I'd say Mad Lad playing the way he did prevented it from being a strong run overall lol. And I'm saying it all as someone who supports both guys.
