Epic to beat mid 30s Federer when Djoker was in his best year? Not sure I agree with that - as it should have happened. Nadal was just befuddled by Djoker at the time as I recall. That was impressive.
No, I think the Rafa streak was impressive. Djoker really had his number. I remember Nadal being pretty shaken. So both were pretty medicore things really. No big deal really.

I don't think beating mid-30s Fed three times during his best year was as impressive. It's what should have happened.
Djokovic beating Nadal 7 times in a row was pretty brutal.
Rafa streak was more impressive because Fed was 33-34 , but we need to accept it noone else was beating Rafa and Fed in those slams .
He directly took away 6 slams from them in a period of 12-14 months !
What was brutal about it was that it happened from out of no where. Nobody saw 2011 coming. We were all shocked by what happened.
That's actually happened twiceDjokovic beating Nadal 7 times in a row was pretty brutal.
That's actually happened twice
Djokovic beating Nadal 7 times in a row was pretty brutal.
Turned around and lost 6 of 7.
Again turned around and beat 7 times in a row !
Djokovic beating Nadal 7 times in a row was pretty brutal.
And 5-4 since then, Rafa's favor. 5-2 off HC, 0-4 off clay, 5-3 off-grass.
How exactly?
Djokovic's four wins against Nadal in this period were Wimbledon 2018, AO 2019, ATP Cup 2020 and RG 2021. So it should be 0-3 off clay and 5-1 on clay, with his five wins being Madrid 2017, Rome 2018, Rome 2019, RG 2020 and Rome 2021.
Who would beat them if Novak didn't do that?Epic to beat mid 30s Federer when Djoker was in his best year? Not sure I agree with that - as it should have happened. Nadal was just befuddled by Djoker at the time as I recall. That was impressive.
Fed being 7-1 against Nadal after turning 34 is pretty amazing too. Not "brutal" since Rafa dominated him in earlier years, but massively impressive nonetheless.Djokovic beating Nadal 7 times in a row was pretty brutal.
Djokovic still third of the three unfortunately. That is why NY and Tokyo were so important for him. However he has 2022 to correct his dissapointig end of season. That is why he is the leader of the big 3.

7 finals of 7 big tournaments across all three surfaces.Djokovic beating Nadal 7 times in a row was pretty brutal.
That is not how the perception is among the public and players. The Nadal Golden Career Slam has to put him on top of the pile purely because of the hyperbole Agassi got when he was only player to have it before Rafa arrived. Agassi was always introduced as the Golden Slam winner.Nadal has been 3rd of the three.
2000-2010 - Fed won 16 slams and some 270 odd weeks at 1, Nadal won 9 slams and was 100 odd weeks at 1
2011-2021 - Djokovic won 19 slams and some 340 odd weeks as 1, Nadal won 11 slams and was 109 odd weeks at 1
So Nadal has been 2nd to both the champions in their peak, greatest number 2 and hence the third wheel.

It does seem there is a degree of insecurity among those who dislike Nadal. Every achievement he has is attempted to be dismissed. His statue is even criticised lol. Examples are
1. 13 FOs shows clay court tennis is meaningless and is too many to be a GOAT
2. His golden slam is irrelevant as gold medals mean nothig (despite players saying the exact opposite)
3. Wimbledon 2008 was an awful match and Nadal won because of bad light (the inference must be Nadal was wearing night vision contact lenses)
4. Nadal has an inflated Us Open record due weak draws.
I am not actually a fan of Nadal particularly but when one sees the nonsense as above it is so laughable it is hard not to warm to the guy.
Federer is right there with Nadal. I like Djokovic but i just do not see how he is anythig but third of this era.
That is not being disrespectful to Djokovic. Just an honest opinion shared by the majority of tennis fans if the ATP comment sections are anythig to go by.
Yup, Med may not have saved tennis, but he definitely saved TT.Just imagine how unbearable his fans would have been had he beaten Medy and won the CYGS.

Man, I feel bad for Djo fanatics since they continually have to post threads about how things are "epic" to sooth whatever hole in their lives they have. Serious. Like several a day now. I imagine them at home, posting, then ripping their shirts off like they are Djo himself. Seriously...

Ok, emperorHe's no king, that's why he has such a chip on his shoulder.
Ok, emperor
3 consecutive slams in 2011/2012 (Rafa) and 2015/2016 (Roger)
How epic is that?
he was better...he had to improve his game to compete with Rafa and NovakIn 2015-2016, Federer was far from his peak. 34-35 yo Federer was still a formidable opponent, but let's not kid ourselves, it's not like Federer was as good as he once had been.
