Tecnifibre T-Fight RS 300 vs T-Rebound 298 IGA

Hi All,

Is there anyone who has tried both RS 300 and the IGA racket? Their specs look very similar on paper, how do they compare to each other when it comes to playing? I demoed RS 305 and thought it is too head-heavy for me and sometimes I cannot generate enough head speed for the ball to go deep.

Thank you in Advance!

I haven't tried the RS 300 but I've tried the Iga, 305, and 315. I found the Iga to be quite similar to the 305, balance-wise. Definitely had some heft. Pretty sure it's the foam filling. That said, I've found that adding weight to the handle really does work to fix that for me for most racquets.

That's actually what the 315 feels like--a handle-heavy 305. I liked it the best of the bunch for that reason.

Never tried the IGA but the 300 RS is my racket of choice (it made me stop testing more rackets), feels much more manoeuvrable than 305 RS, specially after long hitting sessions, more power, higher launch angle, and crazy spin. It's even embarrasing how some balls go down. Both have very nice feel when hitting and not hard at all, even hitting with the frame doesn't feel harsh on the arm.

My 2 cents :)

Hello, I've been using both the RS 300 and the IGA 298 for the past month. I keep both racquets in my bag and alternate between the two. For me, the RS 300 is slightly better for feel and control. For the Iga 298, i've been able to get more spin. However the stiffness was bothering me, so i had to lower the tension and switch to a softer string. Both pretty solid, but I favor the 300 RS because of the lower stiffness and thinner beam.

Thanks for all the response. It seems that more people love 300 RS more than IGA, which is consistent from what I heard from people outside this forum. I think the impression is that the IGA would provide slightly more power and spin, while 300 RS provides faster swing and more control.

The Iga looks right on my wheelhouse but that stiffness has to come down a bit as I would be concerned over it in such a light racquet.

It’s quite simple. If someone wants more power and spin then IGA 298 is a way to go. If more control and feel, softer impact then go for RS300. But they are not very far from each other.

I actually found the Iga to have less spin than the 300, mostly because it is harder to generate RH speed. The Iga is great for slice and feels really solid. I would characterize it as a frame for someone looking for a lighter racquet that hits above its weight class.

The 300 is like a spinny players frame with some extra power potential. It definitely has more pop than the 305.

I would say the Iga is like a less powerful PD VS and the 300 like a less powerful but more solid PA VS. BTW, I preferred both Babolats slightly (as long as you add some weight to the head of VS). The Tecnifibres have more control but the Babs can do more damage.

I'm curious which Babolat would you think is similar to the Tecnifibre 300? Pure Aero?

I've been in the same boat for awhile now between the 300RS and the IGA. Got scared away by the IGA's ~70RA even though many say it's softer, and bought a 300RS. I've hit with it a few times since it arrived yesterday (I like it a lot so far) but I just got it restrung with Tour Bite and I've yet to test it with that.

Thinking of the IGA as Tec's "Drive VS" and the 300RS as their "Aero VS" is smart; best way I've seen to make sense of these. I've hit with both the old and new VS recently and I'd say the 300RS feels most similar to the new Aero VS with how well it responds to flat balls, but the Aero gives me more spin with round strings than the Tec. Hopefully the Tour Bite fixes that.

Yes, the 300 RS has less power but more control than any current Babolat I’ve tried. In spite of its relatively high RA (66), it feels solid, not stiff. You can feel it flex on impact, definitely not a Babolatish frame.

To answer other questions comparing it to other racquets, it is much more maneuverable and lower powered than the regular Pure Aero. It’s also much lower powered than the Speed 360+ MP, which I found to be a bit erratic and launchy (the 360+ is soooo different than the previous 360). The 300 lacks the power and plow of the Pure Strike but has more spin. Compared to the PA VS, I think the 300 serves with a bit more pace than even a modified VS, but the VS definitely gets more easy depth and a bit more spin on groundies. I pretty quickly added tape to the head of the Aero VS, which really helped the stability and penetration a lot

The 300 seems to have found a niche between the 98” power and control frames, combining a nice blend of both. I love playing with it but I’m in my 60’s now and need a little more help from the frame to finish points and keep top level opponents on their heels. I think I would have really loved the 300 when I was younger. Now the Tec TF-X1 is more my speed.

It doesn’t feel stiff or light at all, surprisingly given the specs. It feels solid, verging on plush. I have mine strung w/ v-torque (soft poly).

Has anyone compared one or both of these racquets to the T Fight RSL 295. Looks like the stiffness of the 295 is similar to the IGA 298. However the 295 has a 100 head size.

I had a chance to hit with both and I think the RS 300 has a bit more free power than the T-Rebound. The stiffness of the T-Rebound is also noticeable after a couple of sets. It’s true that it plays more comfortable than its actual RA rating but my sensitive elbow still gave me a warning afterwards. They both have very decent control but I think the RS 300 generates a bit more spin. I have played quite a bit more with the T-Rebound and found it to be surprisingly stable for its weight, especially at net. I will hit more with the RS 300 to make a better comparison. I have not serve or volley with the RS 300 yet. So far, the T-Rebound has no weakness besides the stiffness.

I agree that the Iga doesn’t feel anywhere near the rated RA and is very solid feeling. Vibrations are very well dampened so it does feel almost plush.

Did you add any weight to your 300 RS? In stock form with no lead, the Iga has more power because the SW is significantly higher than that of my 300 RS.

They both swing about the same in stock form to me. You must have gotten a racquet that's way out of spec, which is not uncommon for a Tecnifibre racquet.

Just picked up a T-Rebound 298 and the QC is awful from Tecnifibre yet again. They are notorious for having completely off-balance racquets, especially being head-heavy. Tecnifibre could give Wilson a run for its money in the QC department. Had to send the racquet back. So disappointed.

Tried the RS 315 and Iga 298. I thought that Iga 298 would be feeling fine based on the reviews (71 RA), but not so; that feels stiffer than Pure Aero/Drive!! Has tons of power and feel, but I could not play more than few minutes even with a multi; felt discomfort in my arms. On the contrary, despite RS 315's published RA of 69, that feels much plusher, and felt zero discomfort in the arms, even with a full bed of poly.

And TF40 feels awesome!!Tecnifibre has done an excellent job with the recent releases!!

Anyone here has experience with the Tfight 300 ISO, relative to the Radical MP and Blade 100? I'm deciding between these 3, and would welcome any comparisons. Thanks!
