To think that when Fed and Novak skipped big parts of the season , their ranking soon plunged out of the top 10Kinda crazy ngl.
He somehow managed top 10 even in 2015 lol. Gotta overplay clay season in 2022 to stay in top 10.

Of course there is a Goat debate lol, and the number of years, weeks or days in the Top 5 or Top 10 as well as the number of reached Slam Finals, Slam SFs, Slam QFs, Slam 3rd is of secondary importance for the Goat debate. If there is a GOAT debate, this kind of achievement should all be in the mix.
I thought he dropped to something like 10 after RG. Anyways he ended the year ranked 5.He was top 5 in 2015 lol.
Have you played through chronic pain or injuries, and felt the difference between clay and the pounding you take on hard court?Bc Nadal was somehow always fresh as a daisy come claycourt season. Clay worked wonders on his injured knees.
Show me where this is officially stated.Of course there is a Goat debate lol, and the number of years, weeks or days in the Top 5 or Top 10 as well as the number of reached Slam Finals, Slam SFs, Slam QFs, Slam 3rd is of secondary importance for the Goat debate.
Yeah and he can afford to skip parts of the season outside of clay while Fedr and Djokovic usually have too many points to defend in the case they do the same thing and that obviously sends them down in the rankings.Bc Nadal was somehow always fresh as a daisy come claycourt season. Clay worked wonders on his injured knees.
he should have thanked Roger for helping him get his 5th YE#1 and no 1 ranking in 3rd decade.Rafa is the ONLY player to have been #1 in three different decades. He has also been YE #1 5 times even though he hasn't played a full season 7 times.
So whose fault is it that Federer and Djokovic don't dominate any surface to the extent that Rafa dominates clay. Federer and Djokovic have 75% of the tour to gain points on their favourite surface yet they are under pressure to earn enough points to see them through.Yeah and he can afford to skip parts of the season outside of clay while Fedr and Djokovic usually have too many points to defend in the case they do the same thing and that obviously sends them down in the rankings.
Could have, would have, and should have don't exist.he should have thanked Roger for helping him get his 5th YE#1 and no 1 ranking in 3rd decade.
In the tennis common sense rulebook. Of course people doesn't count the number of times player reaches 3 round of a Slam, outside of his closest relatives that is. In the same way no one, or almost no one, counts how much time one player had the ranking of # 8 in the world for example. Those facts, or "achievements" are pure trivia regarding the Goat debate.Show me where this is officially stated.
You still haven't come up with the official source of these parameters of GOAT that you are quoting. In the tennis common sense rulebook. Says who?In the grand scheme of things what matters is the #1 spot. And there it looks a bit underwhelming tbh.
IF there is a GOAT debate. But I have yet to see one.If there is a GOAT debate, this kind of achievement should all be in the mix.
That's besides the point. So whose fault is it that Federer and Djokovic don't dominate any surface to the extent that Rafa dominates clay. Federer and Djokovic have 75% of the tour to gain points on their favourite surface yet they are under pressure to earn enough points to see them through.
Is it?That's besides the point.
I know were you want to go with this, but I've told you just the other day, the goat isn't some subjective term, and isn't up for free interpretations for fans of a specific player, until it's 20-20-20 maybe you can have some of your subjective criterias, but the moment someone gains a more substantial lead in the Slam race, all the talk about "my favourite player is my Goat" will be a complete nonsense altogether. You still haven't come up with the official source of these parameters of GOAT that you are quoting.
Have you played through chronic pain or injuries, and felt the difference between clay and the pounding you take on hard court?
Yes it is because this is not about who was more dominant on his best surface. The thing is Federer and Djokovic usually had many points to defend even post USO and when they skipped the 2nd half of the season, they were out of the top 10.Is it?
See my post at #28.I know were you want to go with this, but I've told you just the other day, the goat isn't some subjective term, and isn't up for free interpretations for fans of a specific player, until it's 20-20-20 maybe you can have some of your subjective criterias, but the moment someone gains a more substantial lead in the Slam race, all the talk about "my favourite player is my Goat" will be a complete nonsense altogether.
That seems to make sense, but it really doesn't. (Taking pandemic ranking rules out of the mix). It's like saying that a player who has a great 2022 has a disadvantage going into 2023. In the end, even the weekly rankings are not really about defending points, but about earning more points than your competition.Yeah and he can afford to skip parts of the season outside of clay while Fedr and Djokovic usually have too many points to defend in the case they do the same thing and that obviously sends them down in the rankings.
Okay, you convinced yourself that this tired anti-Nadal talking point is a valid one.You do have a point, but you're either injured or not. At least goes for anyone not named Nadal. He was somehow always fit to play in April, and it's clear that he deliberately took long breaks once claycourt season was over, not bc he was injured at that point.
I mean, he plays through injury on clay, and then takes 6 months off so he can be ready to play 5+ tournaments in 2 months on clay next year? That's ridiculous and noone but him does that. And it wasn't always about the knees.
So no, i don't think there's anything wrong with my first post.
Logically, if you imply that Rafa can put his feet up after the clay season andstill end the year as #1 5 times then he is more dominant on clay than Federer and Djokovic are on grass and h/c because they don't win enough clay points to boulster the rest of the season, but Rafa earns enough points on his 'worst' surfaces to see him end the year as #1 5 times and nth number of times as #2.Yes it is because this is not about who was more dominant on his best surface. The thing is Federer and Djokovic usually had many points to defend even post USO and when they skipped the 2nd half of the season, they were out of the top 10.
Have you played through chronic pain or injuries, and felt the difference between clay and the pounding you take on hard court?
Rafa normally only plays MC, Barcelona, Madrid, Rome and RG in the clay season, with the potential of earning 5,500 points. That is not enough to get him to the top 5 at YE but he is able to earn points on h/c as well as opposed to Federer and Djokovic who are unable to do much on clay. You do have a point, but you're either injured or not. ???Have you faced an entire field of consistent baseliners, armed only with a PS90 and a perpetual desire to hit drop volleys?
Okay, you convinced yourself that this tired anti-Nadal talking point is a valid one.
fedr won milan at 19...Roger

How can Rafa usually stay in the top 2 relying solely on a maximum of 5,500 points from the clay season.Yes it is because this is not about who was more dominant on his best surface. The thing is Federer and Djokovic usually had many points to defend even post USO and when they skipped the 2nd half of the season, they were out of the top 10.
???
I try to do that every day before lunch, doesn't everyone?
Yeah, and? Nadal is better tennis player than Djokovic and Federer in the under 19 category?See my post at #28.

If Murray isn't mentioned then doesn't qualify....IF there is a GOAT debate. But I have yet to see one.
