Re. my other favourite frames... It's funny that you should ask that because my recent return to the TF40 has been a big departure from my usual type. I've typically been playing with 16x19 player's frames, like Pro Staff 97 v13, Six One 100 v13. Blades, I've played around with too. And "the Doppio" (search the holic thread if you don't know this name already), the Pro Kennex Ki Q+5 Pro (2019) which is 16x20. I'd always relied on the whip and bite of 16M frames to give me reliable depth control, until recently when I dug out my TF40 strung with Gosen AK Pro CX, which is a very gut-like, touch kind of string... and this time it totally clicked like some kind of epiphany. Gone are the doubts about whether I can get enough spin with 18 mains. Gone are the doubts about depth control (as this combo gives me enough feel to judge the depth of flat shots). And suddenly I'm wondering if 18M frames are the key to unlock my tennis!
...But likely just another honeymoon!
