Are you still able to find MP 2019s? I know **** has some but no way to check specs there. I got my 2019 Tour from Express Tennis 2 weeks ago and paid $10 extra to get them to confirm specs before I bought one.
Yes, in my country MP2019 costs 155 usd comparing to 290 for MP2021.

I avoided the GP until now since so many people were saying this is a Tour level frame, sluggish to use..etc. So far I am not feeling that to be a problem. I got mine unstrung at 309/297SW and 314 balance. It swings fast so I added leaded leather to the handle to get a little more static weight. Strung it is 340 with a 330 SW. 8 pts HL balance.

The racquets I compete with the past 5-6 months have been the Vc95 and recently the Dunlop Cx Tour 95, so maybe those are just more advanced and coming to this GP seems easier. Before that I used the PK Q+5x which swings more sluggish through the air (same unstrung SW). So to me, this GP is not that advanced. Advanced to me is the Blade Pro or Ultra Tour, VCP HD or RF97.

You got lucky with a manageable SW and Balance on the GP. Same thing happens when you get a low spec VCP HD and RF97.

I have a 2019 Gravity Tour with 315SW and 5HL. My friend has a 2019 Gravity Tour with 340SW and 1HL. Night and Day difference in usability.

The Ultra Tour is a low spec lighter frame racquet by design. It is easy to play but advanced player might need to weight it up. But anything is possible with Wilson QC.

Right I get all that. I didn't actually get lucky, I actually sook out a light Gravity Pro, had it's specs measured at a local shop and then bought.

I personally don't think the Ultra Tour is easy to play. It has a small sweet spot and low power, and required a lot of energy if you use a SW grip like I do. I enjoyed mine, and leaded it up, but it's a pretty advanced frame that doesn't give any free power. Bu to me a 315 SW is not going to give me easy depth, so I prefer SWs around 327-333.

The Gravity pro doesn't feel that advanced due to the large head and sweet spot. I can generate deep groundstrokes with less effort. And yeah I understand that mine is 4 Sw points lighter than list and that helps. That's why I mentioned it in the first place. I definitely agree that a 340 SW would be more difficult, which is why I think it's worth paying TW the extra $ cash to get one on a lighter spec. It's a lot easier than buying 5+ Blade Pros and hoping one is in the 335 SW range, when most are 345-355.

I think a lot of players who love classic feeling sticks like the PT280/old Radicals..etc would find this to be an easier frame to use. At least that is my early impressions, If things change I will update.

A smart man doesn't need luck. All good points!.

The Gravity Tour is the easiest to play 18x20 racket on the market IMHO as long as the swing weight is not too high....

I got the 315SW frame and weighed it up to 320SW so no it would be an easy switch for me... Eventually will take it up to 330 myself. Right now I am still in 3.5-4.0 so the reduced swing weight doesn't bother me... I could even get away with 305 SW if I needed with my current competition.

Ah, yeah I hear you. SW is pretty personal. I find myself always preferring the same range, as I have a pretty fast swing as it is, and I like to keep it in check a little.

The Tour was not available in the US when the Gravities came out, so I tried the MP and liked it a lot. It was just too head heavy of a balance for me and I didn't feel like buying one and modding it. And after that I never really thought about Gravities until very recently, as I have been craving more control and have been trying modern control sticks that aren't super hard to use. Gravity ticks a lot of boxes...the 18x20 in a 100 is pretty damn cool. Forgiving net clearance but still a heavy driving frame. Feels like a Prestige/Radical from back in the day with a larger sweetspot. 20mm thin beam but still has some punch to it. I suspect I will have some fun with this one once I get some matches under my belt with it.

Everything you’ve described in this post and your last few are exactly how I feel about the GP.

When it comes to match play, just wait until you get totally confident with your first and second serve. Lights out.

I really love serving with this frame. It is very easy to generate that heavy rolling topspin drive. And you are right, I have not fully even dialed it in yet. To be honest, I was looking for something I could serve a little bigger with. I have a pretty good serve and don't get broken too often, but I wanted to see if I could take it up another level. Also on the ground I want to save a little energy on the rally balls, and I have noticed so far that the GP is really easy to hit deep and heavy spin with and not get fatigued.

I love my Gravity Tour, as mentioned above got to be one of the easiest 18x20 frames to use. Just the right blend of linear control, spin potential, free power etc. Nice and stable at net and serves well.

I would like to try the Pro but like others have been put off by some of the stories of over-spec frames. I mean I could handle 340sw for casual play but against better opponents, defending a lot it's probably not going to be much fun.

I've heard the feel is on another level from the Tour though...

The GP is great when serving, and it's easier to hit those deep heavier balls closer to the baseline, with less effort.

The last hit out, I took out my new G360+ ET Nite and served with it for the first time. Man oh man, I served absolute bombs!!! I also had a great arc on my second serves and gained so much confidence that I was swinging out almost as much on the second as the first (except I was putting more spin on the ball rather than trying to flatten out). I hope it wasn't a honeymoon experience as it was fantastic. The only area I am not completely sold on, at this point, is the hard flattened out groundstrokes. I have to play more. So far, it (the G360+ ET) has been great on slow and hard-hit loopy shots with an extra margin that pushes the opponent back.

The GP has a lower trajectory in this department (but not low compared with the PMP) and I find it easier to have confidence in flattening out the ball, but takes a bit more effort and technique (I said just a bit... not too much) to produce as much loop as the ET. The ET, on the other hand, produces an effortless loop and arc on the shots but might need more technique to flatten the ball out.

Remains to be seen as I need more time with the ET. But, it's time I am very much looking forward to putting in. Another great product from the G360+ range from Head.

This was my experience today. Big serves, easy groundies. The feel is on another level too..honestly the Head feel I have wanted for years. I think the leather grip mod is a game changer for maximizing the feel. Really anyone can do it since you can swap out the weighted buttcap for a stock one if weight is an issue. Basically net one extra gram if you do that and use a Head Leather Tour grip. The feel with the leather grip is a 10/10 for me. I am sticking with extra weight for now as I love how it feels, but its good to have options.

Incredible frame. I'd love to see a 98 of this thing, but the 100 doesn't feel too blobby and the extra bit of head size really pays off when it comes to forgiveness. I was catching some big serves a little behind me and still getting my returns deep. This thing feels like a future classic that people will be hunting for a few years from now.

What string and also what gauge do you think that fits the 360+ Gpro?

Ive been using Lynx Tour mains and element crosses on everything. 1.25 poly. So that works. I may try silver 7 tour mains and Tour Sniper crosses too. I'd say 1.25 gauge or smaller is the way to go. I think S7t is 1.23.

I've had mine strung with 18 gauge poly in the mains and a 1.25mm or 1.30mm Syn Gut in the crosses (depending on what I had available) in one, and the pre-strung Lynx (1.25mm Black - I assume) in the other. Both have worked well.

I agree with you that these will be future classics and very sought after (unless Head doesn't change them or Auxetic/ future versions turn out to be improvements). Either way... these will be classic and future ones may/ or may not follow. But I got two of the Red/Teal versions.

I had the SW measured with strings. I had option of 315, 317, 323 and 325 (last 4 rackets in the store all strung with head hawk touch 17). I selected the 315 since I can add SW but can never take it away.
Good call. I use 18gauge poly now to try and keep swing weight as low as possible with these

I’m thinking about purchasing a pro stock version with a 16x20 pattern to see how it plays. I typically prefer the open pattern rackets but the feel of the gpro is just too good to make the switch.

Mine Tour with 322-325 SW need weight at 12 to play good. I guess 61 unstrung stiffness too low and needs more weight to play good.

Before adding lead did you try just to string lower ? If so did it help with more power ?

Yes, i already strung low. I always used to strung 26/25 or 25/24 kg but with my Gravity Pro/Tour i strung 23/22 or 22/21kg. Gravity Pro with 67 stiffness played so much better but my arm feel it and its too demanding. If i dont lead my Tour i cant hit heavy ball with it and if i lead it, its same as pro but with less feel, touch and even worse maneuverability.

I doubt we see a new cosmetic. Probably ask @dr325i on that one. I could easily be wrong.

Got mine specced now at 336/330Sw and 7pts HL. Plays incredibly well. I swapped out the buttcap and put one in without a weight to get it lighter. That said, with the weight at 340 it plays great too so I can easily go back and forth and mess around. 336 is a safer bet for long term success though.

IMO is far, this is the best Head frame I have bought for my game possibly ever. Usually there is a price to pay for such amazing feel, and it typically is in the forgiveness category. Not the case with this racquet at these specs.

For those that currently use the gravity pro, do y'all add any lead tape? I generally add lead tape at the 3/9 but what has everyone else been doing for theirs?

Gravity 1.0 (G360+) silo was originally released in Q3 2019. If Gravity 2.0 (? Auxetic) is scheduled for Q1 2023, this makes it a 3+ yrs product cycle. G360+ Prestige and Speed were released after Gravity, but will get their Auxetic evolution way before.

I’m obviously a big fan of the existing line, which I think are excellent, plush sticks. No need to make changes too often if sales are (still) going strong. Along with a fair number on here, I’m of the opinion that in a decade, the GPro 1.0 will be a highly sought after stick (similar to how the IG Prestige MP is today). We’ll see if we’re right!

My two GPros purchased together in the initial six months of release came in a touch head heavy with swingweights of 338-340. I think the early batches had a tendency to run less headlight with corresponding overspec in swingweight. It wasn’t an issue for me since that’s around my preferred SW anyway. All I did was stick some BluTack under the buttcap to get the balance points to 5-6pts HL and I was good to go.

I would think whether the hoop needs lead or not would depend on the QC variance of the stick and your own preferred spec.

Next one is 2023. No gravity release in 2022 unless something changes

Well, let me start off by sharing what does not work. At least in my experience. I like a Poly/Syn Gut hybrid and I’ve really liked Wilson Revolve 1.25 in the mains (as well as Yonex Poly Tour Rev 1.20) with a 16G synthetic gut in the cross. My stringer accidentally used the 1.30 Wilson Revolve in the mains and it is brutally stiff and the power is down as is the launch angle. It also feels to have added weight to the head. I’m amazed that the difference between 1.25 and 1.30 is so large. But the 1.30 mains has ruined everything I love about my GP

So if doing a poly mains hybrid, I’d stick with a 1.20 or 1.25 gauge. And then 1.30 in the cross if using a synthetic gut or multifiliment. If using full poly, you probably want to stick with a 1.20 or 1.25 cross.

I’m getting ready to try VS Touch 1.30 mains and 1.20 Max Power crosses. Those strings can’t get here fast enough because I can’t wait to cut out the 1.30 poly mains.

For my Poly/SG hybrids, I’ve liked a starting tension of 48 lbs.

With the gut hybrid, I’m going to try 54/50 lbs.

Glad to hear your trying out a gut poly hybrid! What was the deciding factor on the 1.30 gauge for gut? Durability I presume?

couldn’t agree more about the gauges affecting the swing weight. I prefer 18g polys to keep it as light as possible as I find the gpro at the top of my swing weight tolerance.

Yes, the 1.30 gut is for durability. Given the 18x20 pattern, I might be able to get away with a 17g.

Ive been really playing around with string setups in the hopes that I find my best fit before the spring USTA season.

Has anybody tried extending a Gravity Pro? I recently extended a 2019 Gravity Tour by 3/8" and gotten surprisingly good results. I was able to remove all lead from the hoop (I previously had a couple of grams at 3 and 9 and a little at 12 to improve stability) and got significantly more pop from the previously anemic, overly flexible frame. The swingweight is way up (a little past where it was with the lead), but surprisingly it doesn't feel sluggish the way it did with the lead. I'm thinking of trying the same with my GPro but am concerned that this already heavy racquet will end up unusable (for me, 3.5/4.0 50-something male).

Damn the Head... why do they need to mess with the very good racquet…

On a whim, bought a barely used GPro 2019, customized it a bit and I bloody like it.

Now I want another one, but Head doesn’t have them anymore, just the new/ugly 2021 version. Ok, never mind the stupid paint… but after I measured a few new one's Head shop have in the stock, the 2021 GPro is 5-7 grams lighter than a GPro that I have (witch is exactly on TW specs, to the gram/mm). Balance is generally on specs, but I will need to add more lead….

So annoying… Whey they removed the weight, now it is almost GTour specs….

I don't see a problem here apart from your preference towards the 2019 paint job? You customised a 2019 GP to your liking and now you want to commit to a second GP. The newer 2021 versions that you had weighed are slightly lighter than your 2019 model. Seeing as your comfortable in customising, why can't you simply add weight to get it to your desired spec? I could understand your frustration if the 2021 version came in over your 2019 spec, but getting one under spec is surely the goal in this instance given potential QC issues (unless I'm missing something)?

A ton of people including myself and this forum would love to get a GP at 10 gram lighter with the thin beam
So I also agree QC issue is not a good thing. However, I will have to say whoever got a GP (=GT weight) then he/she has now a dream racket

Man these frames are the same weight. You are just dealing with the spec variance of the major racquet makers. There is no difference in the intended specs from each model.

Maybe I am overreacting a bit… Stupid paint job :)

I am fine with customizing, it would need much more lead, I would like, this time, to customize as little as possible.

But the primary concern is that 2019 and 2021 version, even with the same specs wouldn’t be the same.

Some people report that 2021 is stiffer, some say it is the same…. Confused now…

For the entertainment value, bought the new 2021 GPro.

Spent an hour matching the new racquet to the specs. Will go to the swing weight machine for exact fine-tuning, but for the first test, it was a perfect match for weight and balance. Even with that, I could feel the difference. 2021 has more weight in the throat, and 2019 has more even distribution with a bit more in the head. Few blind tests confirmed it, so there is a difference there. In the play, the difference is much smaller and almost negligible, so I am fine with that.

But are 2019 and 2021 GPro the same racquet? No, they are not. At least with two samples that I have.

2021 is stiffer, no question about it. It seems that the throat is stiffer in 2021, while the 2019 model has more uniform stiffness. If 2019 has 62 RA, the 2021 model is more like in the 64-65 range. It plays fine, could switch between the racquets easily, so at least that is good, but they definitely feel a bit different.

The paintjob finish is different also. 2019 is more smooth and glossy then the 2021 version

There is nothing wrong in 2021 version. It plays good, but if you have very sensitive arm like me it may affect you. For most people i would choose 2021 version a little bit stiffer but with less SW.
