Search on "low back pain". You'll get thousands of hits.

It comes with aging. Its going to be with you the rest of your life. There is no miracle cure. Learn all about it and develop a regimen that helps you live with it and still do the things you love to do.

It is not a death sentence.

Your best bet is to find a good chiropractor, preferably one that specializes in sports injury. I agree with netman about the miracle cure, but with a good chiro, a little bit of muscle strengthening to prevent future injury, and a training regimine (number of times of tennis per week and work out time) that works for you can greatly reduce your problems.

The great part about a chiropractor is they will work to fix the problem, not just cover up the symptoms with NSAIDs, however please remember that fixing spine problems requires work on the part of the patient as well as the doctor (healing time is greatly accelerated with a cooperative patient).
If you are having a problem finding a qualified chiropractor, try this website
http://www.parkercc.edu/DCReferrals.aspx?id=843
(this school is respected world-wide for the higher than required training given to their doctors).
Good luck and feel free to email if you need any more help.

Can you elaborate on how a cooperative patient helps the healing time? What does the patient need to do to make chiropractor stuff work?

A GOOD chiropractor (notice the word good) will not just adjust a spine and call it a day. When a chiro works alot with athletes they will recommend certain exercises and PT that you can do at home and some in their office, depending on their facilities.

The way you have to look at it is muscle imbalance is one of the things that can cause spine problems. If you just adjust the spine, that muscle imbalance is still there and the problem will come right back. If the patient works with the chiropractors recommendations, the patient will have a shorter healing time because they are eliminating those imbalances.

Many patients decide that you don't have to listen to a chiro's recommendations the way you listen to your familiy doctor. But let me ask you this, when you go to your family doctor for any sickness, do you alter or completely eliminate the prescription that is given? Why would you do this with your spine, chiropractors are just as well trained as the family doctor...

Hope this helps, feel free to shoot me an email if you need to.

let me bring this up again, i think you should give this a look. i went to the chiro after a real bad flareup where i couldnt walk right for a week or so (i'm only 28years old) and i did the usual thing and he said i had muscle imbalances and two of my lower lumbar dics were still buldging/herniate from a car accident 4 years ago(which is what i expected was causing pain) BUT a few weeks went by and i finally got a book by dr. sarno and i feel almost ZERO issues now and i still have the same disc problems and imbalances. any issues i feel now i am sure are not caused by discs or muscles.... its worth 10$ to get the book off amazon....good luck with everything.

I'm confused:Is this Dr. Sarno guy a chiropractor or is he anti-chiropractic?
