Shapo back to VCORE?

On the Mallorca Open instagram story there is a video of Shapo hitting backhands with what is without a doubt a VCORE, but he seemed to be doing just fine with the EZONE? It's not an old video of him either so I don't know what the case is. Media is refusing to work so cannot upload picture at the moment.

tennisnerd reported he’s playing 2021 VC95 at wimbledon, any validity to that? looked like the SV at mallorca.

Anyone catching the game? Unable to see it as it is showing FAA’s match instead. No pics in Gettyimages yet either

Just saw some pics pop up in Gettyimages. I believe it’s still the SV95 he is using, not the 21’ VC95. It looks glossy and doesn’t have that “head gravity” hoop shape.

its still the sv95, since he certainly wouldnt have changed again from Mallorca to Wimbledon when it was still the SV

Well. It’s always good to change it up. Can always go back. Now he knows.
The last thing a pro struggling to find form wants to do, is keep switching racquets every 5 months. Most might tinker with tension slightly, but need to keep all other variables the same.

haha..maybe he should back to the SV95, after todays loss to Nakashima. I'm sure Yonex isn't thrilled with him cracking that frame after losing

I feel bad for this guy. Shapo is not a player who is struggling b/c he is busy partying etc.. the guy seems a very hard-working, ambitious, disciplined tennis player... He is in a massive slump. This year has been a disaster for him with the amount of losses to lower-ranked players. I completely get why he went back to vc95 etc but as we all know it's never the racket and it was never the racket.... but I was hopeful that with the old racket he would get his confidence back etc... anyways... anyways, hope he finds his rhythm back with whichever racket (I am a previous vc95, last 5 months ez98 user)

Maybe he needs to go back to his six one. I didn’t think he was doing too bad with the EZone 98. He’s still making a lot of money; he’ll figure it out:)

He was peaking at AO until the Nadal wasting time opera.

his shot selection is beyond reason. I understand he's considered a "shot maker", but even in that last tiebreak, he was going for sooo much on the return, one of them nearly hit the back fence. I read he started the year with Murray's old coach Jamie Delgado..and nowhe's working with fellow canadian Peter Polansky...They have some work to do

This is true. I just mean, to go to an Ezone which I understand to be the more powerful, more forgiving option if he stayed with Yonex. Now he knows that’s not working.
Can’t say he didn’t try a new stick

But he did switch from the 95? Eeek. I didn’t even think about that. And now to a Vcore 98? You’re very right. That is a bit too much.
As rack-a-holics, tho. Many on here at least are fascinated by it.

Shapo needs to go to a customised stick that has a 22x25 string pattern with tight spacing and an unstrung RA of 30. That will do the trick.
