UsOpen 2009 - Nadal with a bad abdominal injury.
Loses to Del Potro in the SF in straights while serving powder puff serves.
Then Delpo, against all odds, beats the 5 time defending champion, Federer in the final.

Could we have the same scenario? Can Kygrios do the UNTHINKABLE and win Wimbledon? Will Nadal lose in the SF, and will Novak lose as well?

You mean the Djokovic who was down 0-2 yesterday? Why is everyone so confident in him?

Nadal’s FH is the best shot in the entire world right now and he has DOMINATED the Fritz match with it, even serving 120mph by the end. He is FINE.

Rafa wins it all. You all will understand soon enough.

I was shocked to see Nadal’s improvement in serve speed. I really want to know how much pain he was in and how he overcame it to just keep pushing.

He said he changed his serve motion so maybe 2010 shoulder serve is back???

At this rate, I want Kyrgios to win Wimbledon. Would be one of the most laughable stories of tennis. Big 2 will be powder puff 2 if Nick pulls off this against Nadal and Djokovic back to back.

Rafa fans are the ones saying Djokovic will win in hopes of "jinxing it"

Del Potro won USO 2009 mainly due to Federer being about as thick headed and stubborn as he has ever been on a tennis court.

At this point it is a popularity contest, I am not a fan of Djo or even less of Nick, so Nadal for me against the odds.

Bring it.

Not really. Delpo was playing REALLY well too.
And unlike the Current Next Gen - Delpo had NERVES of steel.
He wasn't a CHOKE ARTIST like the current Next gen MUGs are.

Yes, Del Potro was playing exceptionally well.

But, please go back and watch that match and see the absolute bone headedness of Federer trying to playing chicken with Del Potro's forehand, when he had a perfectly fine strategy at the start of mixing it up and targeting the backhand more and making him pick up more low bounce balls from the slices.

Man I saw that UsOpen Weekend Live. Both SF and Final.
Yes, Fed made a boneheaded decision to allow Delpo back - but Delpo played really well too. That forehand winner on the run he hit to win the game was amazing.
And Delpo in the last 3 sets of that match - his forehand was an absolute MONSTER shot. I've never seen a bigger shot on a tennis court.
Fed had one bad moment, but Delpo had the mental chops to make him pay and take the match.
This is SORELY lacking in the current next gen.

I don't get the overinflated confidence in Norrie. What other than winning one masters has he accomplished lately to warrant such blind optimism in his abilities?

The good thing about Norrie is that unlike the rest of the Nextgen he isn't a mental midget. The bad thing about Norrie is everything else, he's not very talented.

This looks to me more like 2018 USO. Nadal somehow wins final set tiebreak in the QF then proceeds to give walkover to a guy with big serve who proceeds to lay an egg against Djokovic. The scenarios are eerily similar

Put money where your mouth is. Bet $1000 on Nadal and another $1000 on Novak if you're that confident
Good luck to him trying to beat the 2 greatest players of all time back to back who have 42 slams between them. After he has already went 5 sets against 2 mugs already this tournament

Nah he'll bottle it in front of the public against novak. He hasn't experienced such a high stakes situation before
