Things I noticed from attending Laver Cup vs watching matches on TV

  1. Murray walks with his back at an incline, a slight stoop. Not good for long term :/
  2. The best forehand off a “neutral” rally ball was Fritz’s. He was hitting rockets and has a really safe action for generating power, keeping the ball low, and hitting with margin. Berry’s has more loopy topspin than I expected.
  3. Borg wouldn’t say anything but would just slap the players on the ass multiple times during the changeover
  4. Berry’s slice action looks really uncomfortable and everyone was cringing expecting the ball to go out every time he hit one
  5. Djokovic has an Aura on the court. He immediately gave off this intimidating air of being involved in a different tier of the sport to the other players (then played like it too)
  6. Team World barely supported each other compared to Europe
  7. Djoker’s forehand was so much more powerful than I was expecting, even when he wasn’t trying to lash it
  8. Djoker’s crowd interactions worked. He’d wave his arms and the place would go wild. He was very popular with the crowd
  9. Most players walk. Federer saunters. He was so obvious from a mile away by his gait and vibe
  10. Tiafoe has killer passing shots. Didn’t see him miss one from memory.

You don't have to be there to notice this he's always had that attitude at the Laver Cup which is why Fedal took over the coaching. I don't think Borg could care less about the Laver Cup.

Wow love such detailed observations, great insights, thank you! How was the overall atmosphere? Does it from time to time feel a bit fake, especially the beahaviour of team Europe?

please add more things, its very interesting :)

The crowd was pretty split. World was getting more applause than I thought would be the case for sure. Fritz had a huge vocal section of support.

Never felt like a real tournament except when Berry nearly choked the tb and people got tense

This surprises me. I’ve seen several Fritz matches live in Indian Wells and he gets only moderate support. And Fritz is a native Californian. Odd that Londoners are supporting him.

I agree, paying the price for some of the worst on-court body language ever.

I always knew Berrettini's forehand was loopy, he grew up on clay and almost pushed Djokovic to 5 sets at RG.
  3. Borg wouldn’t say anything but would just slap the players on the ass multiple times during the changeover
He just doesn't open his mouth much when speaking, so hard to tell.
  4. Berry’s slice action looks really uncomfortable and everyone was cringing expecting the ball to go out every time he hit one
I agree, we are in the weakest grasscourt era of all-time, so he'll probably win 2 or 3 Wimbledons.
  5. Djokovic has an Aura on the court. He immediately gave off this intimidating air of being involved in a different tier of the sport to the other players (then played like it too)
Always had arrogant body language, also his voice sounds arrogant too, and I've seen people on youtube impersonate him for it.
  6. Team World barely supported each other compared to Europe
And they never should, since they don't represent anything.
  7. Djoker’s forehand was so much more powerful than I was expecting, even when he wasn’t trying to lash it
Because he's got the most boring technique in tennis, so even when he hits hard it looks boring.
  8. Djoker’s crowd interactions worked. He’d wave his arms and the place would go wild. He was very popular with the crowd
Imagine if someone won Wimbledon 5 times and still wasn't popular....
  9. Most players walk. Federer saunters. He was so obvious from a mile away by his gait and vibe
Yep very feminine person, despite his lack of beauty :-D
  10. Tiafoe has killer passing shots. Didn’t see him miss one from memory.
Imagine having that ability and only having ONE title to your name - Delray beach 2018. He's the biggest Loser on the tour.
