Should players get married during active career.

No it causes too much unnecassay stress. Look at poor Fed / Nadal

Three of the most successful players ever are in decads long relationship. They have been as good as married since 2001 and 2005 and two of them were married for almost the better part of their career.

What that tells you?

They don’t have to get married, but I do think there is a strong correction between stable long term relationships and career success. The Big 3 met and stuck with the women who would eventually become their wives at a young age. Instead of chasing around every super model they could find, they dated and settled down with girls they’d grown up with for the most part.

Strong correlation to success - but also asks the questions how successful could they have been without that distraction. Who knows? And as a very happy family man I am in no way putting down family life.

Why did OP mention Fed/Nadal as marriage causing issues when Djokovic was the one who had the biggest impact as a married man after his cheating scandal with Deepika in 2017? (not making baseless accusations, Novak's exes said he had the affair and we all know how bad Novak's 2017 was).

Federer and Nadal have been in very stable relationships for countless years now. Djokovic however faced accusations of affairs with Deepika in 2017 which saw his results plummet and his wife stopped attending his matches. :censored::censored::censored:

And 5 years later they are still together. Nobody's perfect. No marriage is always a fairy tale. And accusations are just accusations. Let them be just that. The fact that they stayed together speaks of a strong bond.

I’m sure my posts on TTW will cause damage to their relationship . It is an accusation and a well founded one that several media sources commented on, and then Novak having shocking results after the “alleged scandal”. But yes, nobody is perfect.

Strictly speaking, 'single vs. married' comes off as a false dichotomy when it comes to evaluating the stress off-the-court of professional sportsmen. The most potentially distressing factor for sportsmen is 'childlessness vs. parenthood'.

Rafa has said his partner (wife since October 2019) brings stability to his life. They started to date in 2005.

It's not whether they should get married but WHO they marry.

The ones who marry actresses and models need a lobotomy.

Also, serial cheaters shouldn't marry before they're 35. Djokovic feels he still needs to play the field, which is KINDA difficult to do in the age of the mobile cameras and the internet. Ditto Becker who married way too young. The guy was still doing the alpha thing, well into his 40s, let alone 20s. Betas like Anderson can marry at 19.

I’m not saying they have to be monks to succeed. I’m saying you can’t fool around during tournaments.
We don't know what players get up to between matches.

The cameras only show their matches and a few brief interviews.

Unless you have secret cameras installed everywhere?

You say that like it's a bad thing.
