How can you predict the form of a team three games into a new season? With the additions of Torres, Voronin, and Babel, along with the likes of Kuyt, Crouch, Gerrard, and others, I'd say Liverpool have more than enough firepower to compete. And as for form against "better" teams, Liverpool should already have a victory over Chelsea, and you know it.
As for the knock against Rafa not having the "aura" to win the league, how good has Mourinho's "aura" been when guiding Chelsea into Champions League play? Just because Rafa hasn't won the league yet, doesn't mean he can't. The bloom is off the rose, and whatever luster the "Special One" had is faded...
Lol you honestly think Liverpool are going to win the league? I mean.. honestly? Gerrard aka the poor mans Lampard, Torres who has never been prolific, you think he's going to get 30 a season like Drogba does? Even in Spain he only managed 12-15 and that's in Spain!.. Liverpool don't have enough yet, plus the team don't know how to win the league. They lose to teams they shouldn't and it's just not good enough.
Gerrard dived to get a free kick against Aston Villa on the opening day, which they scored from. If he didn't they would of lost points. Decisions even themselves out through the course of a season and Chelsea deserved a draw with their dominant display in the first 30 minutes of the second half.
What you on about with the Champions League? Mourinho's already won the Champions League, same as Benitez. Chelsea lost on penalties in the semi finals last year (a lottery) and lost to Liverpool last time with a goal that was proven to of not crossed the line (a decision that meant a whole lot more than the penalty last week). Also Baros went in with his foot raised to Cech which is a free kick.
Heres proof:

Chelsea had won the league that season and put everything into every game whereas Liverpool got nowhere near so had players ready and rested, same goes for this year where Chelsea were still fighting for the league, the FA Cup and had already won the Carling Cup... Liverpool were nowhere near in ANY of these conpetitions.
Benitez doesn't know how to win the League, yet. He might get closer this year but can you imagine him going head to head with Chelsea or Man Utd at the end of the season? They don't have the experience to get the job done.
Wow, what a gutsy choice. If it were "real" football, then the same one or two teams wouldn't be winning it every year. More like FIXED football...(err...soccer). Now, back on topic...
So football is only football if a different team wins each year? Wow Phil, i'm used to you knowing what you are talking about and making valid points. Having an off day?
