Gonna Try the Mojo Blend

OK, I'm about to try the Mojo blend: Klip Legend mains/ISO Speed Pro crosses.

Recently, I've been using Babolat Tonic+ 16 mains/ Gosen OG Sheep Micro 16 crosses, string at 58 lbs, and really liking how that played.

Can anyone comment on the relative power of the two combos? I'm trying to decide what to string the Legend/ISO Speed hybrid at.

My initial thought is to string at 58(g)/61(iso), which will give me a solid comparison with my standard hybrid. However, if folks have already determined that Legend/Iso Speed has significantly more or less power than my standard, I can adjust my tensions accordingly.

my $.02

from my experience start out with the same tension you normally use. that will give you a "fair" comparison. The IsoSpeed does tame the power of the gut a bit but not significantly IMHO.

The Isospeed does take a bit to settle I string the night or afternoon before and let it sit overnight.

BTW what racquet are you putting it in?

mojo blend is an excellent set up...
the first time i tried, i had it on 55/57lbs on my dnx-10mid, and regret not listening to make 10% tighter in cross. the cross lost it tensions fast.... since than i did all in 55/60lbs...

bagung, isn't your blend armour pro 17 / iso pro 17?
Have you tried armour pro 17 / iso control 16?

Since TW is currently out of the iso pro 17s, I wondered about using the iso control 16 in the crosses instead. According to nbmj with his blend the iso pro 17 crosses always snapped before his legend mains.

at this moment, on my 4 dnx-10 mid is as below:
1. armourpro16/isopro17, 54/60.
2. legend 16/isopro17, 55/60
3.tonic16/isopro17, 56/60.
4.armourpro16/tonic16 54/56.

i haven't try the isocontrol16 in the cross, sorry..
at the legend/iso, the cross iso always break first..
however, i can get approx 14-16 hrs of playing....

I prefer the Control in the crosses, because the Professional breaks quite easily while the gut is still playable. It frays like no other too.

It's close enough to the Pro, maybe a little less spin; the usual tradeoffs of going to a thicker gauge. I'm not really sensitive to the difference but the durability is much better.

I've settled on PSGM/Yonex 850 with Poly Polar crosses...plays fairly close to the Mojo hybrid, but I wish Poly Polar was available in 1.20 gauge.

Between these two blends, which has more spin and power for you?

With AP mains do the iso pro last up to 14-16hrs?

How many playable hours do you get before the iso control breaks versus iso pro?

how about tension loss from the iso-speed?

does it tend to lose during the whole life-spn or huge initial loss
and then kinda settles in?

^^^hahaha. I have been busy moving from Miami to Ft. Lauderdale so haven't had much time to post or do anything else. haven't picked up a frame in well over a month. I posted some photos of my new digs in Canadian Chics corner. The place where I live has 23 courts. Too cool! :)

I'd suggest 61 m's and 63 c's. I use it in a K90 and it LESS powerful than my 'substitute rig', the Babolat gut m's and Lux x's I had for a short while this summer. CC ;)

yeah, I get asked almost every day to play, but still unpacking. It is great though because everyone there is a tennis fanatic, so there is always someone to hit with. :)

By the way, the Volkl is hanging on a wall with a POG, PS85, Head Prestige Classic, Dunlop Black Max, etc, etc, etc. It is in very good company. :)

Still looking for the 93 fishnet version.

legend hybrid gives more power..
found the armourpro hybrids more spin , less power..
durability wise armourpro is about 1-2 hrs less...
all break in cross......

About 6 more hours, and by then the gut is shot too and tension has gone out the window. With the Professional, I get nervous about wasting gut with some life left :|

I wouldn't call it an apples-to-apples comparison...I personally think that Iso-Speed Pro feels stiffer (in a full job; I haven't tried a full job of Control, only Pro) than Poly Polar 1.25, but plays like a softer string (if that makes any sense at all). But I've never strung them at the absolute tension, as I practice the 10% tension bump for Iso-Speed, but have strung them at the same "relative" tension, taking the 10% bump in consideration, so take it with a grain of salt.
I prefer Iso-Speed by a long shot but Poly Polar is cheap...
