Sleeveless muscle shirts just look …unprofessional to me in a tennis tournament.

Imagine being a grown man so upset and worried about what other grown men choose to wear on a tennis court. What a weird thread. Honestly, I think the tank tops look good and I understand why pros wear them. Its hot in the summers and its nice to have a little variety in the tennis wardrobe when pretty much the only fashion choice for men are a shirt/polo and shorts, the tank top is a nice way to mix it up.

Definitely increased skin cancer risk for day matches, but hey, you're bulletproof when you're young right?
Pretty much all the upper echelon tour players wearing one currently, except Tiafoe, look kinda lame compared with Nadal.

Watching Zverev right now in the semifinals of the French Open. Skinny guy wearing what we used to call a muscle shirt just looks so white trailer trash to me. For the weekend warrior behind the junior high hitting and shanking balls, not for a major professional tennis tournament. A wife beater we call them, because every guy getting arrested on tv for beating his wife….is in cuffs wearing one.

We don’t even allow them at my club, even on the outside courts. A guy asked our pro why he couldn’t wear one, the pro said, “trust me, no one wants to see you in a sleeveless shirt”.

A guy asked our pro why he couldn’t wear one, the pro said, “trust me, no one wants to see you in a sleeveless shirt”. I tried wearing a sleeveless top, after going to the gym once, but some guy humiliated me so now I've voluntarily assumed the label of beta male, and he's an alpha. All bullies are alphas. So now I look down on anyone who wants to wear one, even though it's none of my business. I like to pretend I'm classier than others, people who don't even wear sleeves. I am oblivious to the irony of saying he looks unprofessional when he's an actual professional. I'm also so overly concerend about looking like a macho guy that I'll care so much about his appearance, and totally ignore how he's an actual wifebeater. Policing illogical rules helps to reinforce my herd mentality, and it's a justification for looking down on people who aren't part of my in-group. I've been peer pressured into conforming, and I'm proud of it."

Fixed your typo for you. You're welcome.

Sleevless shirts on the guys does look weird to me. I feel the same for the women who compete in baggy looking shorts or long spandex shorts. Looks fine for practice but go back to polo shirts for the guys and skirts for the women during tournament play.

I dont mind natural cotton sleeved tops but synthetics cant stand them prefer sleeveless, the less the better for hot days and nights
and just towel down between games much more comfortable. Nadal looked awesome in his youth sleeveless as would Fucsovics now.
Kokkie and Kyrgios are like Xmas trees you find in Shibuya Tokyo, they love and need attention but should be fined from sleeveless tops
as public indecency and harassing the vision of patrons.

If you don't have the muscles to fill the arm holes you just look like a child in gym class.
And if you have muscles to fill out the arm holes you still look like you’re at the gym. It doesn’t matter and makes the guys look unprofessional.

Sure. If you say so. Personally, I've never considered Federer somehow more professional than Nadal, nor any other player comparatively, based on their on court attire.

I thought Nadal looked terrible and unprofessional in his sleeveless t-shirt and his capri pants. It was a terrible look. Nadal is a great player but his attire was unprofessional.

Agassi yes but Nadal no! he was the contrast to the arrogant yuppie Fed at the time. The most contrasting look and manner ever from the 2 top tennis players.
Nakashima now reminds me of Sampras, same hunchback, lowered head and looks out of place on the court nothing like the poise and over the top human Rolex.

Good looking men or women should have the choice to look Alpha if they can pull it off, but since the tattoo craze worldwide I would rather full sleeves than regurgitating
a little of my food every time I see Kyrgios. I didnt like Serena or Venus outfits much of the time but it was their choice and if anything positive we got a laugh or at least
made us review our emotions and sense of sanity. Even the poorest African, Indians and Mexicans using color do better than the Williams ever have.

Nadal was the beast of tennis and looked great, while Fed with sleeveless without the use of loud colors would look even weirder than Kyrgios, even if he waxed like Agassi and got a fake tan.

This is a bit of a joke though, its up to the individual to see if they can pull it off or just look off!

Big fan mr vs, but how far do you want to take “unprofessional”?

Are hats then unprofessional, are headbands that tie in the back like a ninja unprofessional? Are wild patterns and colors unprofessional?

To box tennis into such a small corner with what is “professional” limits the games growth around the world and amongst sporting fans.

Diversity is exciting man

I got to add, 1970s, 80s and most of the 90s shorts were worse than any sleeveless tops today
men with those tennis short version of budgie snugglers looked ridiculous and likely to cause infertility
very unprofessional look :)

What is your opinion on the early 2000s football kits? I would say in general terms a bit of an overreaction in the opposite direction.

All I can see is that in foozball no chance since the late 90s where before that it was like tennis, the shorts were so daggy
and the hairstyles were just as bad

Then Campos tried his best with blinding attackers by poking their eyes first

Well I would say if you look at the shirts from like a 2002 match they tend to be notably baggier than in a kit from 2022. For example,

The shorts are less notable but I think a touch cleaner in their tailoring too.

Women disagree with you so thats simple and many men too
he looked hot just like the tennis he produced and opposite of stuck up Federico
Fed looked best in gold striped Wimby gear but awkward in modern nike gear

He looked like he belonged on the practice court not on center court of a grand slam. The sleeves look is so bad looking. That what we used to wear to practice in. We also wore short shorts and tight fitting collard shirts. Much better looking.
The baggy shorts and baggy t-shirts, and baggy sleeveless t-shirts have to go.

Watch all the players that pull their short sleeves up (out the way) when serving. it feels like one is being restricted (distraction). I stopped wearing short sleeves many, many years. I'm really not caring how it looks, The only question is how do I feel during my service motion. Nothing more.

I’m sorry you have such difficulty wearing a normal shirt.
