Slazenger pro x-1

I had 2 of those rackets. It was the worst rackets I have ever experienced in my entire life...... Way too light and completely no feel at all....... I have however, ordered the latest Slazenger NX One.... I hope it won't disappoint this time.

X1 is an awesome racquet for a 4.5+ who does not camp on the baseline. Awesome for serve & volley, nasty spin, excellent control, small sweetspot, wicked slice, and is effortless to swing. Plays best with a crisp string (not a mushy multi or dead poly). Truly a 'scalpel' in the hands of the accomplished player.
The NX ONE plays nothing like the X1, and is a paintjob of a Dunlop 300g.

Sorry to kind of change the subject, but didn't you end up with the RDS002Tour?
I have been using the Pro X1 on and off for a while and while it is demanding, it is one of the few of today's racquets that I could settle on. The brief demo I had with the RDS002Tour is another one.

I used a leaded up slaz pro x-1 for a while and found it to be very low powered, but very comfortable and precise. I actually liked it from the baseline, but had to work real hard to stay in long baseline rallies due to it's low power. Awesome at the net and great variety on serves. Dunlop/slazenger should re-release this frame with a tad more power added to it and they would have a real winner.

I have a pair of those hanging on my rack for when my shoulder gets back...A tad too much SW for my jacked up rotator cuff...
It does have a very muted feel, but when you hit it clean in the sweetspot.. wow! Pity the sweetspot was so small though.
If you are talking about the Tim Henman x1 pro braided that is black/blue/silver then I can help you acquire a couple more if you want. I have two that are beautiful sticks but don't fit my game. Great serves. Better than any current racquet I've tried.

Not sure if this is the place to ask, but can anyone identify my racquet? (sorry I do not know how to upload pics). I know some stuff about it (I have it, so...) but I want to know its specs, esp. its balance point.
I got it 10+ years ago. It's Slazenger, says "Precision Pro X" & "graphite composite"
MS - about 95", 16x19 and it's PURPLE and SILVER.
I'm guessing it is some cheap thing...
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I really liked Babolat Powergy (discontinued), Gosen JC, and LaserTour in my X1.
Some people say the X1 was not that powerful but IMO it had adequote power, esp.if you nailed the (small) sweetspot.
For me, the bet feature of this stick is that it swings so effortlessly that it feels like a natural extension of your arm, unlike any othe frame I've hot with (and that's A LOT). I bought a TF335 16x20 out of curiosity because it seemed like an X1 on steroids spec-wise....and it is...esp.at the baseline. It also has a bigger sweetspot. But the X1 is still a better overall stick for all court play IMO.

Good point about power level on the X1. Some people confuse "Power" ratings with "Power on off-center-hits"..... The X1 is plenty powerful with a full swing if centered with in the smallish SS. If not, there is a substantial dropoff in power/depth that your opponent will eat up...

The X1 is heavier overall and a bit less HL than the B & W.
The Trinity (black, gold, white) is NOTHING like either the X1 or the B & W
The 305g NX ONE sold in N.America is like a lighter, damper Trinity in terms of balance and power, but is more of a tweener than a light player's stick. There was a 320g NX ONE for Europe only that would've been an interesting demo

I've got three X-1's and while I don't use them currently have always felt they were sweet frames. I've sold off most of my collection but kept them as "you never know" backups since I played quite well with them. Never thought they were low powered and never had a problem with the size of the sweet spot. Oddly enough my baseline game is better with them than my volleying, even though they are thought of as "all court" or S&V frames mostly.
I always wanted to try the B&W pro-braided but never got the chance, the specs just looked perfect to me.

I play with the X1 - love it. I have a bunch of them cause when I found out they were discontinuing it, I started tracking down all the ones I could find in my grip size.
Its relatively heavy as far as racquets go these days (12 oz) but has a very manageable swingweight (316) and feels like less than 12 oz. The sweet spot is actually not that small but it is not too forgiving (in terms of ball control) on mis-hits.
This is probably not the racquet for a baseliner. I can hit perfectly good groundies with it (the power level is just fine) but it really shines up at the net. LOTS of control and touch on volleys. I don't have a bomber serve at all, but I am able to get enough on my serves, place them well, and put whatever spin I want to on the serve.
It's also a very arm friendly racquet - no shock or vibration (even on mis-hits). Hopefully, the racquets will last a long time because I really like using the X1.

It might have to do with with string type and tension. I noticed the X1 played stiffer when I increased the tension up to 60 from 58lbs; making it harder on my arm.

This racquet was always string and tension sensitive.
Strung up tight, it played really stiff. That would shrink the sweetspot as well.
My best results with it were when I strung it up at 52, and with RIP Control. I tried more livelier string, but it would have to be strung up tighter to control the racquet.
I also found the best results with a little lead at 10 & 2.
The combination of the lead and looser tension opened up the sweetspot for me.
I still have a couple Pro X1's as a fall back, but plan on getting rid of them when I find my holy grail this year.

I think that may be part of it and I probably should have mentioned my string setup. Good point.
I use a very soft multi (NXT or NXT Tour 17) at 58 lbs. The recommended range for stringing is very narrow (55-60) and the difference between 58 and 60 lbs feels like a lot more than just 2 lbs. Stringing at 60 lbs with a less soft string (which I tried once) is not so arm-friendly.

I'm about to string the one I just got with x-1 biphase. I have PSG 18 in my other at 58 and really liked it. Should I drop it a little for the biphase?
