Need some suggestions

I'm going to order demos tonight. I'm having trouble picking four out of these:

ProKennex Ionic Ki 5
Volkl DNX 10 Mid
Dunlop Aerogel 2Hundred
ProKennex Heritage Type C Redondo Midplus
Yonex RQ iS 1 Tour
Volkl C10 Pro

If you've tried any of those racquets, please let me know what your opinion of them is.

I chose those racquets based on a few factors:
-arm friendly
-heavy static weight
-open string pattern (I know, the redondo and aerogel have dense patterns)

I don't really hit with a lot of spin. My follow through doesn't really allow for that. I'm hoping an open string pattern will help me get more spin.

I had an AG 200 that I played with for a couple of months...solid stick, great for hitting a flat ball, I will say this though, if you hit really flat an open string pattern won't just add spin to your game, you will have to tweak your stroke a bit. The open pattern just allows for the potential of more spin. I dumped it to get something a bit lighter and stiffer as toward the end of a long match I just couldn't get any power behind the ball as you only get what you put into it.

Hmm, so buying a racquet with an open pattern won't improve my topspin shots?

I don't hit completely flat. I swing very fast, but I tend to drive through the ball more than brush up on the ball.

open pattern won't give you more spin, what it will give you is higher rebound angle which might well be a component of what you mean when you say "top spin" - more arch to your balls, so they fly less flat.

Anyway the racket you probably want is MG Prestige Pro,

Yea, an arch is what I mean.

My shots have such a flat trajectory, that I tend to make alot of unforced errors. Either the ball barely misses clearing the net or it sails a bit long.

Oh, and I don't really like Head grip shapes. :mrgreen:

You can get one with Wilson type grip if you order from NPR or whatever that company is called.

You mean ****, right?

A racquet that had an 18x20 string pattern that I felt had a lot of easy access to topspin was the MG Radical MP. The AG200 hits a very very flat ball. I'm surprised no Babolats on your list

Babolats aren't exactly my definition of "arm friendly."

The PK Ionic Ki5 was very spin friendly. Power on demand but very controllable and easy on the elbow and shoulder.

The pure storm tour, aerostorm and aeropro drive cortex are just as arm friendly as almost any other racquet in my opinion. Have you tried all these or are you just going off stereotypes?

I've seen plenty of posts of people getting TE from babolats. The only one I'd ever think of trying is the pure storm tour, but I read a thread in which a guy said it made his arm worse. I'd rather not take the chance.

Regardless, I don't like their specs. They aren't as head light as I'd like and most of them have very thick beams.

Plus, I just think they're ugly. :mrgreen:
