Thats horrible. I feel sick to my stomach.

I just noticed that the person changed the description of the video. In the original description he states that later his mom got his brother the 360 and that he would later post the video. Of course there was no follow up video posted. He probably got tired of the comments about how evil his mom was for pulling this kind of crap.

I saw this yesterday. I feel bad for the kid, but I found the video to be hilarious. In the description of the video it says the kid eventually got the 360, that might not be true.

I read this on Engadget
"We think we've gotten in touch with his family (who let us know he never got an Xbox, and the whole thing really was a prank on the poor kid); once we know for sure we have the right people we'll post again."

Looks like Engadget is going to donate a 360 to the kid.

Wow that is harsh. I don't know though, my brother saw a lady hit (backhand) her son this morning on the train....

It should've been the opposite. A shoe box or smtg and a xbox inside.
stupid stupid parents.

Maybe they could have afforded an Xbox if the mother or who ever was sitting next to the kid didn't spend too much on food. For herself.

What the hell. That is absolutely disgusting. The poor kid... They didnt even give him a hug (not that it would've changed what they did in the first place) but just walk off.. DISGUSTING..

Yeah, that made it all the more crappy. They got their amusement from it and they left. It would have been a different story if they immediately brought out a 360 right after he saw the clothes in the box.

Rarely does something compel me to want to beat someone up..but I'd sure like to see a video of that mother getting her *** handed to her while the boy holds a 360...and laughs at her.

Do you guys think it's real, though? I mean, they taped his reaction close-up too and all that. If that were real and they found it funny enough to share this with the whole world, that would be just evil.

If it isn't real, that kid is one hell of an actor.

I think it's real. That is really, really messed up. He was soooo excited and then they all just laugh at him. What a horrible family.

I think this people arent bad people, just stupid, it seems that they never thought the kid would actually beleive he was getting the 360. As i said, stupid people.

If you thought that video was funny, you completely described what kind of person you are in five words.

I thought the video was funny too, so what kind of person does that make me? The kid won't be scarred for life because he didn't get a x360 for Christmas. Will he be mad at his parents for a week? Sure, big deal. The kid has a roof over his head and what seems to be loving parents that pulled a prank on him, things could be much worse.

A young child gets filmed being humiliated by his parents, and then it's shared all over the Internet. They even show a close-up of him crying. How is that funny? How is that loving?

There was nothing funny nor amusing about this video. They preyed on this kids childhood wishes and made a practical joke at his expense. They are sitting there laughing at him on Christmas morning, repeating "We can't afford an Xbox. . ," like he was an idiot for thinking it was actually real. They made a fool out of the kid for a lark. That was terrible. Will not getting an Xbox for Christmas scar the kid for life? No. But being emotionally twisted around by the people he is supposed to be close to for their own amusement sure as hell can do some damage.

Pretty sure it was his brother that taped it and put it on Youtube, but either way, it says in the description that he actually did get the system. Engadget got in contact with some people that say they're the parents but haven't been able to verify it yet. For all we know, the kid actually did get the x360.

If you read the description it said he did end up getting an xbox 360. Some people are taking this to seriously especially the people posting you youtube, it was just a prank.

Ummmm. . . .you guys might want to re-read the description. The kid DID get the 360. Things like this happen all of the time. This is far from 'creating a serial killer', but it's pretty scary that some of you sociopaths jumped to that conclusion.

You cannot believe everything you read in youtube descriptions.

Hmm, reading through the comments, it looks like he did get his XBox. Of course, about 4000 people flamed his brother and his parents anyway. I guess there are 4000 sociopaths out there . . .

Again, look, it's one thing to pull a (bad, bad) prank. It's another to put a camera on your child and then broadcast his pain to the entire world. The gift is besides the point.

Agreed, but don't you think it's a bit much to say the kid's going to become a serial killer?

I never stated that he would become a serial killer. That alone--referring to the joke at his expense and broadcasting it for 500,000+ people see him crying-- is not enough.

Actually some of the comments are kinda funny. It's apparently brought out the KKK contigency of the Youtube audience. Yaaayyyyy!!!

I know you didn't. I was just hoping you'd see what I was saying, and you do.

I do love the post above this about the KKK contingency being brought out. Gotta love YouTube freaks, and e-freaks in general for that matter. Tricky, I am not calling you a freak. Rather, I think your comment was pretty damned funny.

Don't know if you caught it but at the end the dad tells the kid it's to make up for all the bad birthdays he's had spent in the hospital being sick, etc.

Nope, the kid didn't actually get the 360. That guy changed the description pretty much the same day I posted the video. It's too bad I didn't get a chance to cut and paste the actual description. But in the original one he said that they were going to get him one and were going to post a video of him getting it. Guess what. No video. I think the brother got tired of people calling him and his mom a couple of a$$hats. And I didn't say the kid would become a serial killer. I said and I quote, "I'm pretty sure this is how serial killers are created."

2 months ago when the video was first created, the original video poster said they got him an xbox. I'm not sure if he lied, but he didn't just recently start to say that.

metalheadzmusic (2 months ago) did you actualy not get him on?!?!? or did you just hide it and give him it later?
theycallhimart (2 months ago) yeah after he ran out my mom put it back and asked him to try his cloths on
metalheadzmusic (2 months ago) oh right lol good i thought you acctualy didnt for a second then :p
SuicideFriendly (2 months ago) Man that is too cruel for words. Was he still mad when he finally got it?
theycallhimart (2 months ago) yeah a lil bit

That was kind of funny.

Agreed. I find it suprising that so many of you find this video so bad. There is a lot of parents who do far worse things to their children than not giving them a luxury good. The kid will probably laugh about this later in life.

in ten years is that kid gonna care???

its just an Xbox besides didn't he get it in the end anyway??
right now he's probably happily playing away on it

there are many worse things you can do

what is sad is the amount of posters who instantly judge those who found the video funny

So basically if found that funny you are a not a human being or something.......geez

While I think this is a horrible thing to do, I believe kids do much worse things (i.e. pulls pranks 10 times worse) to other kids...all in the name of naivete.

The lack of conisderation for other's feelings is a severe issue worldwide. Man, now even parents pull these kind of things. You guys may think it's trivial, but through a small incident, we get a peek at one big reality that hurts. Whether he got the xbox or not afterwards, doesn't really matter anymore.

He would if he never got the XBox, I can guarantee you that. Little things like this can actually affect a person for the rest of their life, because it's not about not getting the video game as much as it is about being unloved and uncared for. But if he did get it, it's alright, although personally at that age I still would have had tears in my eyes and would have been pissed off, XBox or not. The less cruel way to do it would be to give him clothes for presents, and then say "wait a minute, there's one more present behind the tree," and pull out the XBox.
