I have a pinky problem.

I grip my racquet at the end of the grip

(hopefully thats a clear picture of how i grip my racquet).

Well, when ever I serve, my pinky drops out of its place and gets under the racquet (around the buttcap area) and kind of rips away my skin.

(Hm, can you guys see it well?)

Does anyone else have this problem? I don't want to grip up my racquet because it feels extremely uncomfortable for me as I've gotten used to my grip.
Is there a way to fix it??

Man, your fingers are gangly! Haha, just kidding, but not really.

You could try some athletic tape. I wrap my thumb in it because I'm trying to get the huge callous on my thumb to shrink down.

Your fingers and thumb look very dry. Try using some hand lotion to get some elasticity in your skin.

Hmm, I grip the racquet pretty much the same way as you do. Once in a while my pinky may go under the butt cap on a serve but I never rip skin off or anything.

Hm, I should go get an athletic tape, cuz it hurts whenever I serve and I can't concentrate on the shots following my serve.
And put on some lotion :D

You could try the kind of tape rock climbers use when climbing rough rock to keep their fingers from being torn up. Check at a place like REI, EMS, or some other place that sells rock climbing gear.

If you are ripping your skin, then it would seem you are ripping against something. So, what is it rubbing against?

Most likely if you re gripped your handle so the leather covers the hard plastic edge of the butt-cap-- and then used an over-wrap, it might solve the problem.

Your finger might still rub, but, at least, it would rub against something a bit softer.

No, its actually the buttcap itself.

So when I serve, my pinky slides under and kind of gets stuck under the buttcap and I don't really know how to explain but the racquet wants to go one way but my finger wants to go another. Eh, I think sports tape helps.
