PacificLife Open?
Anyway, I would rate this poor guy maybe a 4.5. LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!
If he wanted to be rated higher, he should have been moving his feet more.
Come you yellow-belly thin-skinned whiners, bring it on. Bunch of panzies. Where are you little cry babies.
are you serious with that comment? hes obviously way higher then a 4.5 if hes playing in the pacific life open. he is on tour and a pro tennis player. i sure hope that was a joke..

Can you seriously not detect BB's sarcasm?
its hard to detect sarcasm over the computer.
3.0
form is all messed up
can't even hit through the ball without whipping it so much
Lol I know you guys are being sarcastic but you at least know who Kohlschreiberis right? Around 30 if I remember and I saw him play a match vs roddick where he hit over 100 winners and around 20 errors for the match. He won in 5 sets like 9-7 or something crazy like that. He hit around 30 aces and roddick hit 41 aces i think. It was one heck of a match. It was in the australian open I believe this year.

Just goes to show you how amateur camera work can make a player look really poor. I realize he's just warming up, but there are plenty of club level players who look better doing the same thing.
Are you joking??
Are you joking??
Bungalo bill can probably crush this guy with his eyes closed playing lefthanded!
Not at all, I said "looks better", as in, more pleasing to the eye. Obviously Kohlshreiber would destroy any club/college player.
Case-in-point, I would say CAM187 from this board, around a 5.0 (or more) player, looks to have better looking strokes in his warmup vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6ETsMJKUbc compared to the Kohlschreiber warmup video.

I am lefthanded.
Probably? Probably!
Try any day. In fact, I am going to stat working out and I will see him at the Pacific Open. I think John can get me to teach him a few things in the practice courts.

Make sure you give the poor guy your autograph at the end of it all.

Boojay,
Please dont take this wrong. But I think you are stretching a little.
Both players are well trained in their strokes. They are advanced to pro level players. However, there is a slight difference in the smoothness, racquet control, and ball control in the pros video that you might not be seeing.
It takes time to develop an eye for a beauty of a stroke. It is a lot like developing a forehand. You can spend time hitting a ball or you can spend time learning how a ball is hit.
I have spent time learning how a ball is hit and am probably better at it then hitting a ball.
On the pros video, it looked like he just woke up. I dont know what you know about this tournament, but I went to it many times. A lot of players stay at the Hyatt and then roll out of bed to go warm-up.
So, I agree with you that the player you showed has advanced strokes and is probably rated as you described. However, the pros strokes were a bit more smooth and his racquet speed was very consistent. There was a slight difference in this area.
Not at all, BB. I'm glad to see you're capable of making such a mild post.
Capable? Man youre tough. You haven't seen any mild posts? What about semi-mild? Or ones that have a little hot sauce on them? Just a little hot sauce, not much?
Actually post #4 was mild in our little disagreement.
BB - quick question. in this practice session, federer looks like he's very upright. i know it's just practice but do you advocate bending knees and getting low every time? i ask because i play/practice very upright and sometimes bending my knees and getting so low feels sorta un-natural. thoughts?
Yeah, that is practice and warmup. However, I look at that (knee bend) and the air space between the heel and the ground. If your heel is on the ground the majority of time, that is not good. Watch Federer on this clip.

Disclaimer: This isn't my kind of music.
I've actually been forcing myself to stay on my toes all the time the last couple of days while hitting. It's not tiring at all as I thought it would be. I remember hopping around all the time when I was trying to learn how to time the split step. Now THAT was tiring.
Good, keep it up!

ahh gotcha. not like he's doing squats but definitely bending knees in match situation - especially low balls (duh). noted. dankeschoen! and i guess fo shizzle my nizzle?
I just made this my wallpaper.
