going back to the 2 hander

Lately, too many opponents have been picking on my 1hbh so I tried something I haven't done in 3 months, the 2hbh. I have a lot more pace with the 2hbh, but less control on placement. I feel like I'm taking a step backwards, but I just can't generate enough pace with the 1hbh.

Switching to a 1hbh takes a lot of time. Up to a year or more somtimes. My friend switched from a 2-hander to a one-hander about two years ago, and it took him a full year to be able to use it effectively in matchplay. All I can say is that if you feel the 1-hander is the way to go for you, just hit a million balls with it and keep a positive attitude. In time, it will become a very good or even great shot.

It is never a step backwards going with either a twohander or a onehander. Sometimes you just have to find out! Since you are not a pro, you are afforded the luxury to experiment with two completely different strokes. However, a decision should be still be made.

Although there are those players that can hit with both backhands during play, very few can call BOTH of them dependable!

I don't know why you can not control the ball with the twohander. I would be curious to see how you're hitting it. Maybe you can post yourself hitting it and we can give it a look. If you feel uncomfortable with that you can always email it to me and we can go from there.

I know one Bill :) This guy we play occasionally, Matty/Matthew Koch was 920 in the world a few years ago (still only 20 or 21) and has a great double hander. Well he quit the tour and sometimes plays lower level events for something to do against us guys. Tho the class difference is huge he has probably the best one hander around and uses it simply because he is "too lazy" to be bothered hitting the two hander. He can pass all bloomin day with it lol

Is this another April Fool thread?
