Just learned something I never knew about my BH.

I always knew that I floated grips depending on the shot I wanted to hit, but looking through some pictures of myself, I realized that I shift the dominance of my top and bottom hand depending on the height of the ball.

On low balls I am mostly bottom hand dominant.

On mid level balls, I am about equal.

On high balls I am top hand dominant.

If I am jammed, I become top hand dominant.

If I am stretched out, I become bottom hand dominant.

Going to try to shoot some video to verify, as the stills might be somewhat misleading.

low i guess because the windshield-ness becomes necessary
and high balls, i guess its the flattening of the shot?

How can you tell from photos which hand is dominant on your backhand? Do you mean that you can see different grips and associate the different grip wit the dominance? I can tell from the swing, with greater extension from the when I focus on the bottom hand and more loop from a focus on the top hand

By the position of the elbow of your dominant arm in the followthrough position. If it is tucked in next to your body you are top hand dominant, if it is out away from your body you are bottom hand dominant.

Of course variations and combinations and equal effort backhands mess with that a bit, but it is a general rule.
