Pro Supex Blue Gear Questions

Alright to get started... Are Poleysters truley like playing with cardboard? Somebody told me since the Blue Gear is Poleyster will be alittle rough and especially for the older guys it will be rough. Also why isnt Blue Gear sold in America alot? There is only 3 Dealers in the state of California by me. Also when i told my friends that are on the Varsity tennis team about the Blue Gear they told me its probably a string that is very expensive and too good for our skill level. Is it expensive? For what skill level should use it? I want to know lots about the string being getting any ideas on ordering some.

PS: I only want people to respond who have personal experience.

Hey there..first off, theyre pretty stiff yes but it matters what you string it at. I string from my 17g reel that i have at 52-54 lbs. There are various websites you can but them from and I get mine from strings d e p o t . c o m. Its like $9 something a set and $99 for a reel. But I love the string, gives me great spin and control on my shots. Im not sure about the skill level but if you need to create heavy spin and kick, then this string is for you. Good luck with what you choose :)

after trying these strings i found it alright.
for me i like the pro suprex big aces better.

blue gears died in like 2 days.

I think the word stiff doesnt really apply to blue gear, but more the word harsh or abrassive. It is actually quite a soft poly but has a abrassive feel because of the gears.

In terms of feel, Blue Gear can feel a little muted. But this is only in comparison with Big Ace.

Let's put it this way, everyone is entitled to their opinions because each person has individual preferences. That's fine.

The best way to find out is to try it yourself. Since you're a varsity player, why don't you write to the US distributor, SDP, to see if they can help you out with this.
