TW Scoring

In the reviews of Aeropro Drive with Cortex and RDS 001 Mid, they are both given 80 for control! Surely there is no way this can be right in the real world!!!!!!

cos the babolat is more of a tweener racquet with 100 inch head and insane string bed and the RDS is a classic, heavy, small head/headlight racquet. It doesn't make sense. I played with the babolat last night and the yonex on sunday and the control is vastly different!

There is no real rhyme or reason to those numbers, if they have any value it is internal to the stick being demoed. So an 80 control and a 60 power tells you the stick is more of a player's racquet. Comparing the reviews across racquets invites disaster. The best thing to focus on is the written review, I usually take Granville's word as gold. They are typically dead on.

Dead on. TW's numbers are completely subjective. There's no real correlation in their numbers. When looking at control, you also have to look at power. If power is higher control, you know you have a slightly uncontrollable stick.

Guys, and gals...

Everyone seems to be mis-interpreting the TW University tools... and I believe TW has gotten a few things wrong as well.

In the TW U. Power Potential thingie, the reports for each frame are depicted in terms of PERCENTAGES, not absolute relative values.

Power Potential: At each location the ball will rebound off the racquet at the indicated percentage of its impact speed.

This is a crap measure as they aren't measuring apples to apples. There is no physical way that you can compare power between say a PDR and a K90 and come out with anything meaningful using the measures TW is using.

The only use for their tool is isolation and identification of the sweet spot of a single particular frame.
