Yeah, but its not, and has never been about how many frames, stuff you have. Rather, how well you play.. ;)

I don't knock anyone for collecting stuff. But if you are gonna walk on court dressed all up like Federer and have 20 k-90's in the bag.. Then unless you are top 100, and not playing a local "who knows" tournament, I will give a little giggle..

If you beat me, then I will shake your hand. But guys, c'mon..... There is a difference between being a "pro", and having stuff given to you for free. And wanting to "look" like a pro and not being one...

I don't know. Maybe I am spoiling alot of guys fun.. But sometimes I just have to have that little giggle. I know I can be accused of owning alot of stuff, but I am setting my own "daggy" trend.. Not dressing up like Nadal...

I must disagree though that Nike is killing Adidas in design. I think that the new adidas lines are very nice and their design is special...

I have to disagree with you here. I try dressing like a pro when i play tennis, so that I receive respect. You must wear crew socks when playing tennis, and a plain cotton tshirt should never be worn, unless it is a practice.

When I see someone dressed in just basketball shorts and a plain tshirt, I give them no respect whatsoever...even if they are better than me.

Tennis is a game of elegance and style, it always has been...lets keep it that way. (Imo)

AGAIN sorry I wasted so many posts without the pics, but I got the E*bay out of them now they work!

Thanks for your help on that, I would have never spotted it!

Great post I had to contribute a little bit.

are those the actual Vapors Federer wore during the US Open?
If so, how did u get them?

Wow, there's a subforum just exactly like this on an interactive site one of my wife's friends frequents! ''Private school MILFs and the clothes they love''...something to that effect. There's a scintillating link to an accessorizing thread, too, if you players are down.

Very impressive collection L&F fan!

When you've got that much stuff, how do you decide what to wear? Do you try to wear them all at some point, or do you just love collecting?

i wear mostly adidas. Nike is just too expensive...I personally think adidas has better designs than nike, contradictory to what most people say on this thread.

Interesting you say this. In my part of the world (California) Adidas is as or more expensive than Nike clothing.

I have some Nike clothing because I used a shoe voucher to buy a bunch of stuff (4-shirts/3-shorts/hat) on sale off of the Nike website. I paid under $20 for the majority of the stuff, which isn't bad.

You got some good deals there. :) Please share more of your secret.

Yeah, sometimes it can be tough to decide, but it all depends on the weather and my mood. Most of the time, I wear something casual and comfortable which are not in those pictures; and at most I take just 3 pieces from those pictures with me. :)

It is all about personal preference, isn't it? Some people like Nike, others like Adidas. For me, I buy what is comfortable and looks cool. :)

Well said, dude. Tennis is used to be a sport for the elite group, and dress properly is a must. Remember Wimbledon, only white color clothes were allowed there until Agassi and the Williams sisters show up. Just my 2cents. I am not trying to start a flaming war here, no need to respond. :)

Thanks. :)

It is just my 2cents opinion that Nike is killing Adidas at the moment. :) But bases on the market share, Nike is the king at the moment. So whatever it is, Nike must be doing something right, is it?

My point is Adidas used to have some really cool looking clothes in the Edberg and Lendl era, and people are still paying insane price at the bay just to get a hand on them. :)

LOL, the Nike warmups fit a tall spindly dude, with a firm white boy butt just fine!!!

J

Agree, but seriously, on average for the same size, Nike is absurdly longer than Adidas. :)

I am almost 6ft with cute rear ladies fight hard against among others to just have a touch. :D

You replied to my comment stating that you give someone in a t-shirt no respect. But then say you wear adidas because nike is too expensive?

Funny..

I am not sure I fully understand your question, but I take the liberty to answer it anyway. :)

Those Nike GC polos with the stripes are very difficult to find now.

Personally I would like to see your golf and other polos (I have some outrageous ones :)). This forum is about sharing some of your tennis gears and wisdom with your fellow tennis pals. If no one posted, then how fun can this forum be?

In life, there are the doers, and there are the passive observers; moreover, of course, there are the sneaky snipers (not directed at you, ClubHoUno)

Next time when someone yells at you like "you call this script, Harvard boy, your Mommy just wasted 4 years on you!" then you know which type you are!

Hope you all enjoy my gears so far. :) Seriously, those are some of my tennis apparel, and you will not see me wearing them anytime soon, with the exception of these:

My real favorites:

y do you guys buy sooooo many shirts/shorts/hats. i mean i could understand slightly if they were all different syles and stuff but buying 3 of the same style seems really really silly especially if you have like 200 shirts

Well the stuff does wear out, so if I see a shirt I like I will buy a few of them.

That way they last longer.

See, I am not mentally ill at all, there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for it.

Funny..

lol someone did their research...

idk what to say here except...people who wear tshirts to play (matches) ruin the elegance and style of this lovely game. I didnt specify what brand had to be worn though. If the player chooses to wear walmart brand performance gear (if they even sell it), then so be it. If they choose to wear adidas or nike, i could care less...as long as they dont wear a 100% cotton tshirt!

Oh and one more thing, people should try to have matching brands when they play tennis. It's bad when people say that you "advertise the company" when you wear their shirts and shorts, but its worse when you're advertising for 2 different companies!

I have respect for you Chris in Japan. :)

I don't think it matters that much as to what one wears. Playing in tournaments is one thing, but when I'm out just hitting, why must I be dressed to the nines? I try to focus on my game, not if my shirt and socks are the same brand.

I prefer Adidas and Nike, they just seem to be a lot more advanced in technology and always have what's best for the consumer. I admit to having a New Balance competition shirt which served me well for well over a year before I purchased a Nike and an Adidas one. Will take pics in the next coming days.

Most people posting pics from the US wear Nike. If you go to your typical club there is a mixture of pretty much every brand although Nike is one of the more popular.

Yeah, that's right. I see a lot of Adidas, a lot of Nike, but also Yonex, babolat, Fila or even sergio Tacchini apparel. But most of the players wear Adidas and then Nike clothes....

I sort of agree with both your point of view and Chris's - I'm in between.
I don't see anything wrong with "dressing up" nice on the tennis court. It shows you respect the game and its tradition. On the other hand, I also agree that it sometimes can be too much of the good stuff, when you see a guy dressed like a RAFA, grunting like Rafa and acting like a little superstar....if you know what I mean

It's ok to dress nice and accordingly on a tennis court in my view - I also find it OK NOT to dress up, but I hate it when ever I see guys with NO RESPECT what so ever for the game of tennis and its proud tradition by showing up on the tennis court wearing cut off jeans and shrunken dirty T shirts - no matter if they play like a pro or a newbie

I think theres a line-its ok to dress up properly for tenis, but its when people pretend to be their favorite player that it gets a bit weird

Having someone's clothes is not the same as pretending (or playing like) to be that person.

Personally, I like King Fed's line of clothes because they look cool and stylish. I never try to dress up like him though, I throw in a basketball short or T-shirt to look different. :)
