Nadal vs Verdasco

I agree, if his feet are OK, it should be in straight. The match should be tighter than against Nieminen though.

Verdasco is actually the one who is half-injured. He isn´t fully recovered from his ankle injury in Hamburg. I´m surprised how he beat Youzhny in the 4th set, his movement wasn´t the best.

I'm gonna go on a limb here and predict Nadal in 3 sets, one tough set and two blowouts(breadsticks probably or maybe even bagels).

Really? You also said Almagro had a problem with his wrist? So many injuries I was totally unaware of...

Why change a routine that works? :)

LOL,yeah it seems there is a pattern in Nadal matches on clay. He's slow to start but when he does he blows people away.I gotta say even though I'm a big Fed fan I really enjoy watching Nadal crush people on clay,he really seems unstoppable sometimes and is so much more confident on clay then on other surfaces.

Wow, not gonna happen. You give Verdasco too much credit.
Agreed. Clay would not allow for that many games between players that don't dominate with their serves anyway. Verdasco is dangerous though as he did beat Ferrer and almost beat him the time before. Verdasco's a lefty and hits his forehand very flat and powerful so Nadal has to pick his times to go there.

Nadal's track record against left-handed players is superb. Something like 30 matches in a row IRRC.

If we look here, http://www.atptennis.com/3/en/players/headtohead/default.asp?playernum1=N409&playernum2=V306 Nadal has beaten him on every surface 5-0. If Nadal owns you in straights on HC, beware.

Nadal looks affected and slowed by blisters, i don't know if the rest will have much impact, this should be a great match, i'll give it a 60-40 chance of Nadal winning

Well Rafa has a good record against Verdasco - regarding his feet I wonder if he should try walking about without shoes when not playing to harden his feet up - like the firewalkers in India - no joke it may help

Yeah he is greatly slowed after taking that final set 6-1. What were you watching? It looked like a precautionary timeout and nothing that bad.

No chance for Verdasco or anyone else not named Fed or Djoker. Almagro maaay hang with Nadal for a few sets but no one else can trouble him for more than a set. Clay is a great equalizer!

yeah hopefully a precautionary one, 6-1 after Nieminem helped him in the final set.....Nieminem looked done after the second set, but still Rafa's game looked vulnerable to me, maybe it's the blisters, maybe he's not being pushed enough to elevate his game, still Rafa played below his abilities, still had Nieminem not squandered his chances at the net for the most part, he would have given King Nadal a run for his money or maybe that's what always happen to King Nadal's opponents.....

How did his game look "vulnerable"? What was he doing that made you think this? Please, give examples.

I don't have the statistics but there was a point in the match that Nadal was missing his vaunted forehand shots, for a moment I thought I was seeing a repeat of Nadal-Ferrero match where Nadal just uncharacteristically is missing the lines, but thankfully it didnt go that way....then in the third he called time so i was thinking that maybe the injury is affecting him, i'm not saying that that is the real case, just my opinion, i could be wrong, maybe Nadal_Freak is right that it was just a precautionary and nothing bad.....

Verdasco is walking funny. I don't want to jinx it, but his ankle gave him problems in Hamburg.
