I want to experiment with using an oversize racquet but because Im not sure if its something I'll stick with I dont want to spend too much to begin with (have to buy, cant demo where I live) I've limited it to these racquets under $100 that I can buy from TW.
Before anyone chimes in with "try the POG", I have and I didn't like it. I'm also not interested in buying from the online auction site. Also, because I will not use the on-line auction site please dont suggest buying from that.
Ive narrowed my options down to these racquets which seem to have had good reviews in the past by players around the 4-4.5 region.
1. Head Flexpoint Radical OS
2. Prince TT Warrior OS
3. Donnay Pro One OS
4. Head Agassi Radical Limited Edition
I play a mix of singles and doubles, with probably 75-80% of my matches doubles. I play mostly from the back of the court but I dont consider myself a pure baseliner because I'll come to the net and I dont call myself a grinder or pusher because I like to go for my shots and force the action. I like to go for my first serve (I usually go for both first and second because I have confidence in my serve) then try to crush the return or hit a deep approach to set up an overhead or easy volley. That means the racquet has to have controllable power for serves (balance of power and control and spin) and has a bit of grunt from the baseline. I'd like some comfort as well.
To start with Im leaning towards the Flexpoint Radical because I have tried the Warrior MP and it was way too light to do any good from the baseline and leaded up it lost its manueverability.
Which ones do people think would be the best to try for the style of game Ive described ?
