p90x is on torrentz.com

i found a torrent of it, like a huge file around 6-9 gigs. but it's in HD quality and not the whole dvd collection (only a few discs prolly).

from what i did from it, it is a great program if you can keep it up. the guy speaking is very enthusiastic and funny. they don't push you to do things and encourage you to do it at your own pace.

seriously if you try to keep up with them on the first go and you're out of shape you'll end up puking within 30 min guaranteed.

Ill second that...lol I tried to keep up and I felt like I was going to puke, pass out, then die...lol

yea. i was sweating / dieing after the first workout. there should be a hint that the guy/girl in the background are sweating and they're ripped.

since i didn't mention it b4, i would definitely recommend the dvds. just take it slow.

P90X is not your typical workout fitness program. It guides you with very specific guideline on how to build muscle for a lean body or a stronger more muscled body. With each session they remind you which you need to do to achieve your goal that you set. It is not about doing as many reps as they do but doing it in perfect form which is much more important. When you can no longer keep your form you have finished that set. If you put your time into the program you will see results fast. It will also show how to eat, when to eat, what to eat, and there are even a menu with recipes of what you could cook for all your meals. It is a complete system where everything is done for you except the working out. I am convinced that when I complete the program I will be a better athlete in whatever sport the play.

I have already lost 5lbs in the short week I have been on the program. If you would like to follow my progress read my blog at:

Hey Everyone,

I was interested in purchasing this program. Do you follow the video every time you do the workout or once you get a sense of the program, do you just do it without it?

Just because P90x will get you looking good it does not mean it's the best workout routine for tennis or athletics in general.

It's like bodybuilding verses weight training.

The program will include 13 DVDs and two books. The fitness guide book explains all of the warm-ups and workout routines step by step from start to finish. I still watch the DVDs but I plan on using the book and resistance bands whenever I am out of town.

from June to december last year i did 2 full rounds of p90x. changed my life. i've inspired at least 6 people i work with to do the program as well. it's basically 1.5 hrs of pain per day, 6 days per week, with a strict diet that will have you begging for carbs. don't attempt it if you don't think you have the mental fortitude or time to complete it. at the end of round 1 i finally was able to beat my buddy who was a girls college tennis coach, hadn't come close to beating him in 3 years. i basically ran him off the court.

i cut my body fat in half, doubled my pushup and pullup numbers (by the way, if you don't want to do pushups and pullups, this is not for you) and became overall much stronger. i actually had to eat more than the program called for cuz my metabolism returned to 18 year old levels (i'm 35) and i was losing too much weight. i'm 5'10" and dropped from 172 to 149 pounds in the first 6-7 weeks. i ended up at about 158 if memory serves.

the videos are very well done...funny and motivating. tony is a freakin rock and knows how to make the exercises as fun as they can be. can't recommend it enough.

I began P90x yesterday after being convinced by all the infomercials and a bunch of reviews from my friends that I could perhaps benefit from this.

I've always been somewhat lanky all my life, and as a hardgainer it's very difficult for me to keep the weight on (especially since I'm highly active and love to be on the courts).

As of right now, I'm around 5'7" and a scrawny 115 pounds, if that. The most I've ever weighed in my life was about 125, but that was from bulking up.

Hopefully this will help me get stronger, quicker, and a little bit more toned so that I'll not only look and feel better, but probably perform better both on and off the courts as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first workout yesterday, but I was pretty tired out with all the push-ups, pull-ups, and especially the AbRipperX exercises. I'll most definitely have a stronger core after 90 days pass by after feeling the effects of it last night and today as well.

Plyometrics is up later today. We'll see how that one goes. :)

Just a question for those who have done this program, do the DVD's/books walk you through each step, as in, tell what excercises to do each day? I'm thinking of trying this program but I'd like to be sure that it's well laid out and gives you full guidance of what you should be doing each day...

For sure man. This doesn't get any better. I don't really follow the nutrition guide because I don't have the time to make my food exactly like that but I do eat pretty healthy with lots of protein and carbs so that's ok. The other guide is great too and will tell you exactly what you have to do every day, every week, and every month of your 90 days! :) Get to it mate!

How does the power 90 differ from p90x. It sounds like I am probably not ready for the p90x yet. Is the power 90 just an easier, less demanding version?

I think so. I think Power 90 was the first creation, then they made P90x a little more advanced, and then P90x+ a little more advanced than that. Don't quote me on that, though.

What's up with that trainer (Horton?)?

His face looks so different in the new infomercial. Did he get plastic surgery or something?

I'm thinking about getting it for the summer and using it... or maybe winter break that is almost here! Would I need to buy equipment for it?

Basically, you need dumbells, a pullup bar/resistance bands, a stool or chair, and maybe if you really need 'em, yoga blocks but I don't use them as you can use other things that are just as good. I started about 3 weeks ago and I'm almost to the first recovery week. I started the program in the summer but stopped after 3 weeks because I had too much tennis going on but now it's a bit hard with school too but I manage!

I can't say enough about this program. Changed my life.

A little bit about my tennis game and history on starting the program...

So I played division I college tennis. I was the guy on the team that didn't look like I fit....because I was not fit. I was built like a linebacker not a tennis player. But I had a big game and was tall enough to get away with poor fitness (I could cover the court).

Since college I have got a "real" job, got married, and have 3 kids. Take on, at one point, an additional 80+ pounds and my tennis game was laughable. It was best described as one hard smack on the ball followed by either a winner for me or watching the ball come back past me. I was also having tons of injuries.

So I shifted and became a doubles player on a local USTA men's team. That was fun and we did great. We got all the way to Nationals in 2007! But over the course of a few years there I was battling terrible injuries to my hamstrings, chest, and shoulder. I was always hurting in some way. Then at States in July 2007 I pulled my chest something terrible. But we were in a pinch and we had to finish strong. I could not raise the racket over my head for the most part...some how we got through. We won there and I went into physical therapy before sectionals. I got it back to about 80% for that tournament in about 6 weeks. We made it through there, but I again hurt it in the last match which was a key match. I don't know how we did it, but we won that match after facing match points in a 3rd set tie-breaker.

It was great, but my chest was toast again...but we had time before nationals. So back to therapy and aggressively started running to melt some weight. I got some weight off which was good, and got the Chest in much better shape. I did do a nice minor pull at Nationals on the chest, but I could play through it, just had to take it easy. We gave it a great run in Arizona but did not win.

It was an awesome experience....and became a big one for me. It told me that doing little to nothing was not okay anymore. Tennis was not enough exercise alone...especially doubles. My diet was terrible, etc. It was time for a change.

I started the X this last summer and lost about 40lbs and got a lot stronger and more fit! I am in the best shape of my adult life. Probably in better shape than I was in college. I have not bulked, this program is designed to rip and bulk only if you desire. It is a really nice total body workout that does everything from strength training, flexibility, and plyometrics. The last is so good for tennis players! I can't say enough how much faster that first step has improved. I am covering more court, lasting through matches, and loving singles again. I like others on here have got several other people I know doing this and feeling better. Basically 80% of our USTA team is doing it in the off season and we are looking forward to a repeat nationals run in 2009...hopefully!

If you have questions give me a buzz. I will be clear that I am a beachbody coach, but not as my living. I do it because its fun and I enjoy be a born again fitness guy. I think there is a lot of good programs and exercise programs out there. At the end of the day the best thing you can do is whatever you will stick with. My only piece of advice is pick something that is total body and incorporates multiple components so that you get things like strength, flexibility, cardio, etc. There is no magic pill, berry, or exercise chair that will get you in shape. It is all about eating right and exercising 5-6 days a week.

Enjoy and holler if you have questions.

Heres some conversations that i had about p90x in another thread that seem pertinent. ----->

"Dont have a tape measure but have a pic.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/31313629@N08/3076766850/

Im 5'9" and used to way over 200 (all fat), got on a program called P90X and two and a half months later...the above pic is the result.

If you are trying to get in shape, i strongly suggest this workout program... it changed my life."

--------------------------------

"I lost about 36 pounds in just under 3 months, i still kind of cant believe it but i cant make this stuff up, the results are there.

I mostly did it because i was throwing away so much money at the gym and i barely went, so i looked around for something that i could do at home that would give me results, P90X was it! It is a brutal "no easy way out" program that works you harder thananything ive tried. The last time i worked this hard was when i played football at highschool, but at the same time, these are workouts anyone can do. All you need is some weight bands, I bought 20 pound tension bands which when you do curls, feels like your doing a 120 pound barbells the way the program makes you do it (no kidding). Oh and youll need a pull up bar and push up bars as well. I bought all of these items for under 40 bucks at a Sports Authority Store. You work out for 45 min a day 7 days a week, but its ok to do less than that, i did mostly 5 days a week, with an occasional 7 days a week here or there. As for my diet, I actually became a vegetarian 5 months ago, that alone helped to to get me into to shape. I have a buddy who just ate like he normally does, but no fast food or soda, and he cut just as much weight as i did. Also, increase you fiber intake as much as possible, that alone will help you drop some real weight.

All in all, this program really has changed me life, my six pack is starting to show, i have gained a ton of muscle weight (and its staying on), my vitals are of those of a 16 year old, and i feel happier than ever. Give it a try my friend, remember, this is a hard program, but if you just keep on pressing play, you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!"

I got p90x and started on the 5th. This program is no joke. Made it through the 1st 2 days fine, today was arms and shoulders. Felt like I was gonna puke for the whole 2nd half of the workout. But I gotta say I've eaten since and I feel like a damn champion! Still have to go back and knock out 20 something minutes of abs though. Gotta get that core rocking for tennis!

I have p90x and am anxious to start. But have you all bulked up too much? I'm worried that I'll get too bulky and lose agility.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you decide to copy and paste Ronnie Coleman's workout schedule into your personal notebook or something.

I have the DVD's for P90 and it is a fairly sound program, imo. However, the diet plan is just a low calorie high protein diet that you can pull off any number of websites for free. And in reality, if you design your own program where you do 45 minutes of cardio 3 days per week and 30 minutes of circuit training 3 days per week, while eating 500 calories of high protein food below mtc..you will have the same results as if you bought these materials from Beachbody.

Tone Abs are not built by using ab ripper x, you must cut down your body fat % if you want abs like the picture. You will need to be in the 8-6% body fat range to see nice 6 pack abs.

There are 3 phases, they give you certain DVD's to go through each phase. Yes 1 DVD per day, 60 minutes long.

i have a 2 step process in getting abs.
1. get off your butt put away the dvds that promise abs and get on a solid workout program. this includes cardio and weightlifting.
2. get strict with your diet. this is just as important as step 1 and is often overlooked. if you eat crap you look like crap its that simple.

this is how you get abs. its an easy process that people searching for your money try to complicate.

Completely agree. Most people always ask me how to get 6 pack abs, what type of crunches to do, etc...

I tell them simple. 2 things, go run/cardio, and go on a diet. Do all the ab workouts you want, you won't see a thing if its under a layer of fat.
