Stringing help please?

Hey guys, I'm sorry if these questions have been answered a billion times, I just don't have the time these days to search. So basically, I know how to string, can do them pretty quickly (quite fast actually) and have no problems, but am still unsure about these things:

I always string two-piece, is this wrong? The place I was stringing at always had the USRSA book and I'm sure the internet said if it has both one and 2 piece, do 2 piece, but what if it's only one piece, still possible to do two piece? The new place I am working at doesn't have the book so I'm just going to have to watch the patterns before I cut the string out I guess....

Also, I am really terrible at visualising where I should clamp at the beginning. I seem to sometimes (maybe 1/6th of the time) clamp wrong and it makes a horrid noise when tensioning. So could someone please tell me? Let's say I'm threading the two pieces of main out of the head of the racquet. The place I'm currently working at doesn't have a mobile clamp, so I just use the two clamps on the stringer for this part.

Any answers would be a huge help!

Yes.

Let's say I'm threading the two pieces of main out of the head of the racquet.

Clamp one string at the other end, next to the frame. Then pull tension on the other one.

dancraig thanks, clamp at the throat you mean? I assume thats what you mean because it seems very trivial. Cheers mate!

Yes, I almost never look up a pattern anymore, except on new racquets. Just count the mains and
crosses and the skips. Then tie off in the nearest enlarged grommet. It's quicker than looking up patterns.
