Other people have said that the gut is lower grade than the gut present in Wilson Natural Gut packages.

is Alu power better than rough?

The difference between Alu Power and Alu Power Rough is minimal. With that said, I have played with both and believe Rough (as expected) bites the ball a little bit more. Since they are priced the same, I prefer Rough.

Regarding Champion's Choice hybrid, I am sure it plays really well, but it is a very expensive hybrid. Gut is the most expensive string out there, and as far as poly's go, Luxilon is the highest priced. Depending on your style of game, gut could break fairly easily - especially given the fact that Rough in the crosses will, over time, kind of saw through the gut mains. It is great for someone like Fed who can afford to string prior to every match and practice session, but for us mere mortals, it can get costly.

Take care.

Thanks, so the best thing is to use ALU power so you won't saw through the gut as much which will make it a bit more durable which is what most people want unless your pro like fed as u said.

anyone else have any info to give?

Worthless. I played with the set once, with gut in the crosses. Played alright, but I could tell that the quality of the gut was WAY below what I've used in Babolat VS Touch (or VS Team). For the same price, go with a pack of gut and a pack of Alu Rough, but the quality of the gut will be much, much better.

ok thx. well gut in mains is what usually comes with champs choice so that might be better. plus the rough will destroy the gut so i think or guess alu power will be fine. also why is babolat vs better than wilson one?

I wouldn't say that Rough will "destroy" the gut, but in time, it will saw through it.

It is well known that Babolat makes Wilson Natural Gut, so, in theory, VS and Wilson Natural Gut should be identical. With that said, I have read a few posts where people claim that the gut in Champion's Choice is inferior to normal VS/Wilson Natural Gut.

Take care.

I've been tempted to try Champion's Choice in my AG100, but I've hesitated because typically the playability of gut lasts so long and alu so short.

Has anyone found a longer-lasting poly to use instead of alu?

Btw, the difference between vs touch and team is one is 16 ga and the other is 17 ga. No other diffs that I know of.

Give Weiss Cannon Silver String or Topspin Cyber Flash a go. I hear From reviews SS is closer with much , much better playability!

Ive noticed Fed uses string savers or whatever you call them for longer durability

IME, the gut in Champion's Choice is sub par compared to the packaged Wilson Natural Gut and VS. When I first opened a package of CC, I immediately noticed the yellowish colored gut. Upon install, it was obvious that it wasn't the same gut that I've used from Wilson/VS.
