Who do you think on the ATP Tour has the most fight in them? When there back is against the wall they will dig deep and come back with something spectacular?

Until recently, though, Murray also had his fits of mopey-ness...Simon and Nadal don't really go that far when they're down.

Thats a good point. Nadal is pretty clutch and Simon come backs extremely well.

Roddick also fights really hard.

Murray has my vote the way comported himself last summer on the hardcourt circuit. not current or a male player I thought Patty Fendick had a big heart when she played.

Hewitt
great 2 set record
AO 2005, dug out of quite a few holes
davis cup tie vs Federer. Fed was serving for the match up 5-3 two sets to none and hewitt came back

You know what a player said about Nadal on clay (unfortunately I can't remember who it was)? You can be up 5-0 and 40-0 on your serve against Nadal, you still can't feel confident you're gonna win the set!

Neither of all the mentioned guys would ever have gotten where they came if not for an amazing fighting spirit.
My vote, however, goes to that guy that has NEVER retired from all of his 700+ matches (I've lost count) during his career so far - you-know-who.

In terms of a "never say die" attitude, Marat Safin comes to mind...

Like what comes to mind, to me he seems like he doesn't care....he is my second favorite player because of his talent but he doesn't seem to care
And to answer the topic question, I would go with Nadal and Hewitt

I think he was being sarcstic..? Not so sure.

Hewitt. 10 chars.
lleyton is a good choice... he both gives everything and tries to change of strategy, not all the fighters do that... some players fight hard but stick to a losing strategy. similar to chang in that respect ?

federer was (maybe underestimated because he used to hide his emotions).
how would he have made all these amazing winning streaks day-in day-out without severe losses without some constant fight abilities to save him when he had some (relative) bad days ?...
but (unfortunately) recently i saw less fight in him on several occasion (still can't believe how he made this very ugly volley on the match point against murray at doha... usually, when he misses a shot, at least he does it elegantly ! ;) )
well, not easy to remain motivated everyday year after year, i guess...

i'm surprised nobody mentionned baghdatis yet... it's true he's very inconsistent (he has bad days) but he already put some memorable fights, even if he didn't always get the win at the end.
unfortunate examples against agassi and hewitt (who aren't exactly the easiest players to come back against)... :? more fortunate one against nalbandian ! :)
he's so entertaining... i hope he manages to come back at the top. good luck, marcos !

No, yeah, I was being sarcastic. He might just be one of the least clutch players on tour. And it's more mental than physical. Some days I just think he couldn't care less.

haha absolutely. I think he tries to mainly show up for the slams but even then sometimes he really isnt quite all there.

Look at my avatar. It is obvious, that guy had the biggest heart.

Here you have it in big format:

basically all the spanish minus almagro and robredo, monfils, simon, hewitt, federer, bagdatis, and qualifiers.

That would include Feli and Verdasco, LOL. Speaking of the latter, the Wimbledon match with Ancic was a showcase of winning largely on fighting spirit and heart.

Roger with mono is pretty darn impressive if you ask me. Playing in the heat of the AO with mono and perform at that level is just impressive.

I think too much is made of Nadal's never-say-die, gladiator whatever image. Most of his losses have come in straight sets. Nadal is mentally tough and clutch, but I wouldn't say that he has 'heart' in they way most people on these boards seem to mean.
Fed's heart is underrated. He came back 0-2 sets down against Rafa in 2005 and almost did it again at Wimby this year.

I'd go with Lleyton Hewitt, Ferrer, Chang etc. Those are the sort of players who couldn't rely on easy points and really have to grind their way to win by being on the court as long as necessary and running down as many balls as they can.

Roddick. ppl may disagree with me but he never stops fighting, although his body limits him to a certain level, like he can never run or slide like Nadal.

I've got to give a mention to one of my personal favorites in Nicolas Escude, who came from two sets down to win a slam match no less than 5 times in his career, including 3x in the SAME tournament at the Aussie Open in 98 (not sure but don't think anyone else has done that). He also had a couple epic 5 set wins on grass against Hewitt in 2001, both at Wimbledon and in Davis Cup in Australia. I loved watching that guy play.

Nadal, Hewitt, and... Albert Costa. The Roland Garros after he won it alone puts him in my top three. Probably one of my favorite tennis memories.
