I most liked Wilanders tributes to todays game and players... about what superbly gifted and conditioned athletes these guys are, and what a high level they have taken the game to. And how most Olympic athletes are not even close. I'd say the same thing about most other professional athletes in the major sports. Tennis is such a challenging sport and one that is so hard to make it to the elite levels (top 50 ATP). It's one of the reasons I love the game so much and still play it with such passion, enthusiasm and commitment... albeit at a much lower level, but still competitively.
Wilander is also one of my favorite pros of all time. I've watched a lot of his matches and enjoyed them immensely. His two US Open finals against Lendl rank very high, and his semi-final win over Agassi at the French in '88 (I believe) was wonderful drama. I'd put it up there with the Rome final between Nadal and Coria.
Wish we could get more matches broadcast in the US with Wilander's commentary.
