I saw it last night, it was very good. I liked that little kid from Buffalo, Tim Kane ? Giving away about a foot to the top ranked Italian kid, but still playing tough. Also, the Spanish girl that lost in the finals of the 12's seemed like a great kid.

I know Timothy Kane. I played a sectional tournament in NJ a little while ago and while waiting we hung around and chatted a little. Nice kid...

Yes, Tim Kane went b/c Deiton could not. Timmy is from my section and I have played him several times. Miami83095, do you mind revealing your identity? I am from Eastern Section also and the name is Hugh Mo. You can email me @ mrmo1115@yahoo.com if you want to make it confidential. Just a bit curious.

My name is Daniel from Long Island, NY. My ranking is mad low because I just started 14s and I've had a load of injuries. I think my Eastern ranking now is around 365 which is terrible. On Long Island I think its 70 something. A little better but not as good as once in Twelves on LI I had around 40. I'm 12 on my ladder out of 65 which shows that I play much worse under tournament pressure, Been losing a lot latley...

i thought that italian kid Genluigi Quinzi...or however you spell his name...was pretty solid....that Spanish 14 year old Bautista looked a little promising....could he be a Rafa?...they kept saying that Rafa won that tourny....so there's bound to be a Grand Slam Winner among them..

quinzi showed some cockiness which i didn't appreciate ..

i remember him saying, "if i go crosscourt and down the line and come in, i win 99.9 % of time"

Theres a fine line between confidence and cockiness, and the truth is that all the best players, even if they are coached to be "humble" when talking to the press, are cocky, they have to be. Exhibit A would be Novak Djokovic...

You are right, but maybe its just the way that he said it set off an alarm in my head.

Also, imo there are different ways of displaying cockiness, Novak and some one like Federer do in two different ways, with Novak being more edgier when it comes to displaying it.

the girls were much better then i expected but the quinze kid is the real deal

Interesting comment by Brad Gilbert about the girls...how they mature faster than the boys and will likely be pro's in the next 3-4 years. The Spanish Girl, Virginia Pena, looks very promising but the Chinese girl who beat her is probably an indication of things to come.

Actually - in my opinion - the Chinese girl is probably closer to peaking, at least physically, while the Spanish and French girls aren't even close to reaching their physical potential.

To be honest guys I was supposed to play in that but I'm suffering from a back injury and foot injury, my doubles partner played in that one though.

I saw the thing on the Tennis Channel. That Italian kid looked pretty good, but he also looked like a stereotypical Bolleteri (sp?) player, big serve and forehand, and not much else. I liked the look of that boy from Spain, a pretty big kid, and a pretty big game. Also, that girl from Spain spoke almost perfect English, I was impressed!
