Top 4 head to head since the start of 2008

G.O.A.T.
Nadal 5 - 0 Federer
Nadal 2 - 2 Murray
Nadal 4 - 2 Djokovic
Federer 2 - 1 Djokovic
Federer 1 - 4 Murray
Djokovic 1 - 2 Murray

Overall:

Nadal 11-4
Murray 8-4
Djokovic 4-8
Federer 3-10

Great reading if you're a Rafa fan, pretty good if you're a Murray fan.

NB For the hard of thinking, I'm not reaching any daft conclusions on the back of this, just saw it elsewhere and thought it would be interesting to share.

strange when was the last time Fed beat Nadal? 07 masters cup? jeeeez. Murray's more consistent than I thought against the top players.

Thanks for posting these. Nadal and Murray definitely do well against their rivals. Federer and Djokovic both have trouble with their biggest rivals of late and are reliant on good draws for their success quite a bit.

Great Stats for Murray and Nadal! They are definitely on the rise. Roger will improve that record. You heard it hear first! ;)

To me the most surprising score is Djokovic. He seemed to show a lot of promise but has failed to confirm so far. Murray-Nadal is the most interesting (2-2). Is Murray gonna become Nadal's nemesis or is he going to regress somewhat in the end as Novak is right now? Federer seems to be heading toward the nostalgic pantheon of prestigious has-been, his fans will foam at the mouth at that expression but frankly his numbers are not encouraging.

djokovic's record sucks lol, fed doing bad against nadal is a given, his worst enemy ever since and murray is starting to be another one of those to him as well. I think they are the worst h2h federer has in all the top 100.

Nothing unknown Fed has to start beating Murray and Nadal. I think Fed will start to score wins on Murray soon, clay court season if they line up Fed gets some wins there on Murray but he needs to beat him on the HC. IW and Miami there are his chances.

IW is a good opportunity because it's a slow hard court where Murray is not that comfortable. BTW, in 2007 Murray was beaten by Djoko in both IW and Miami! Could he take his revenge this year? He's coming back from a nasty virus so I don't expect too much from him so soon afterwards...

Yeah, I'm thinking that all of Djokovic's wins came around the summer hardcourt season of 2007? And then of course his win at the Australian last year... seems to have slipped up a bit afterwords.

Djokovic will be #2 by the end of the year, giving Nadal a run. Federer will drop to #3 and Murray will stay at #4.

Just my prediction.

Yea Murray likes his courts fast he has made that clear. Fed if he draws Murray has the best chance at beating him. Like Fed should have been praying for Murray in the final as slow HC are not Murray's thing, but at the same time I am not that suprised that he got bounced as he is just not a fan of slow surfaces.

Djokovic has always been a tough matchup for Nadal but less so on clay.

Agreed. Nobody moves like Nadal on clay. I think, IF and only IF, Djokovic can concentrate, stay mentally tough and patient, train like he wants to be #1, instead of partying and sightseeing, he could be Nadal's 'new' rival.

I know it sounds impossible and I hope he proves me wrong, but I just don't see Federer winning the 14th.

Do you mean at RG? I really don't think Djokovic can come up with anything there, Nadal is just too good. On other surfaces Novak is already a serious rival for Nadal and has been for quite some time already. I'm really excited about IW, Novak beat Nadal there last year and I would like to see if Nadal can turn things around this year. I would also be very interested in a Nadal-Murray encounter to see if the slowness of the court actually helps Nadal or not.

13 slams by 27. Those are some encouraging numbers.

Yes. Even if he doesn't get the 14th-- that is damn good, more like-- impossible-- unless all you do day in day out is improve, train and win. And that's exactly what he did. Nadal has this characteristic as well--devotion. Something Djokovic, Tsonga and other young guns don't seem to have-- Murray might as well. We'll see.

Federer lost twice when he had a lead vs. Simon. He needed Roddick chokes
in Wimbledon, Shanghai and US Open too. Roddick was injured in Thailand, yet he still had a 0-40 chance to break.

Djoker, Federer and Murray dominated on grass and clay?
I'm sure you're impressed with numbers next to the names.
Blake's superior to Nalbandian?

Nothing to do with the topic which was about the top 4 H2H ....

After 4 months, you better hope that
Murray and Djoker wins 5 or more titles
and reach Slam semis. Otherwise...the Fed won't only be the one sliding beneath the top 3.

Have you seen their DC match? Nadal played really badly in the first set (13 UE by the 8th game and only 7 winners) and still won it 6:4. Djok played some fantastic tennis in the 2nd set, Nadal won 6:4. Nadal played on his normal level in the 3d set, and beat Djok 6:1. Djok is so much inferior to Nadal on clay that a walk to the Moon seems to be more feasible.

You are some ******** moron. Roddick is 2-16 vs Federer. Roddick is the one who needs Federer to choke or meltdown to ever beat him. Federer can beat Roddick the 1 trick pony/fluke 1 slam wonder from a wheelchair.

Interesting. Will Federer have to wait 2 yrs between slam number 13 and slam number 14, like Sampras had to wait? His H2H with the top 4 is bad.

I don't think so. From the way things look to date, I would say

Nadal
Murray
Federer
Djokovic

And Djokovic could slip further. My thought today is that, unless he starts picking up his game, Djokovic will never reach #1. Kinda sad.

Fed numbskulls are still living in a dreamworld. You can't blame their bitterness after their fugly, sobbing superstar needed huge serves and unforced errors just to scrape by 0-40, 0-30 holes versus injured nonathletes and awestruck losers. He couldn't believe an exhausted Nadal didn't collapse, as he did in Hamburg, to pity gift Fed another tankjob, in yet another overrated Slam final. He proclaimed himself the GOAT, surpassing the other one-dimensional, no-personality bore Sampras.
