red clay in Toronto?

As far as I know just green har-tru clay. They have some grass courts though.

toronto lawn has clay.... didn't think it was that great (don't tell my host LOL!!!).
granite club has alot of the greenish clay (are you talking literally green, cause it looks more grey to me??).... but granite has red clay too i think, and it's much better to play on.
great, great grass tennis club over by high park that is cheap and looking for members (no one seems to know about it) ....... pretty amazing setup and it's only $400 per year.... wish i could remember the name.... frankly, playing on grass is overrated from my experience (again, don't tell that host!!!)...... might be called high park tennis club, but it is NOT the community club and the courts are NOT in high park. just east of high park, i'll try to remember name of the street.... i looked up mapblast... it's on indian road (next street parallel to park side drive on the east, tennis/curling club on west side, but you can't see the courts from the road)......

also, that big tennis club down on lakeshore west of the CNE was looking for members and i think they have clay courts.... looks like a good club.

that's probably the name of the club........... they advertised summer memberships so that suggested to me it wouldn't be that expensive, although the real $$$$$$ value of these clubs is in the winter.
my sense is that other than the "star" clubs like toronto lawn (no grass courts???) and granite, some of the others are hurting for members.
that high park club on indian road is very, very cheap and has grass courts... i've played them (and it's not in high park, so don't go thru the park and come back and say i'm crazy.... my member friend said $400 a year and i can't even remember if there was an initiation. it couldn't have been high or i would have tuned out right.... very nice setting and grass is nice to play on. strangely, no bad bounces on grass. i thought it was easy to line up ball and hit it.

granite has 5 red clay courts. you have to be a member, but if you know someone that is a member then they can bring you as a guest for no charge.

mimico tennis club in the west end has red clay. easy to get to by public transport too. small club so one of the members will probably hit with you.

also note that boulevard and granite are private clubs. you can't get in unless you know a member and they are with you when you go there. and they have all white dress codes

toronto lawn just club has 1-2 natural grass courts. wow, i just looked it up and i had no idea there were real grass courts in ontario. im going to go as soon as the outdoor season starts. do i have to pay a membership fee or can i just play one time and pay a one time court fee??

There are also two natural grass courts near high park on indian road. I'm not sure on the details with one time courts fees, maybe someone else does?
