We are back for a second in the series, this being the 2009 Monte Carlo Master’s Series event :mrgreen:

The 2009 Miami 1000 Master’s Series prediction league was won by Shadows 18 points clear of me in second place.

Points Scoring Rules: (MUST READ)
If you predict the correct winner but the wrong score in sets, you'll get two points. However, if you also nail the score line in sets, (ie, Nadal beats Murray 2 set to love) you’ll get five points.

New Additional Points Scoring Rules! (MUST READ)
As a slight change from the previous competition, each predictor can pick the winner and runner up of the tournament (before approximately a day before the FIRST ROUND MATCH)

Come the conclusion of the tournament – ten points will be given to each predictor that predicts BOTH the correct winner and runner up and five points for the one or the other.

By the end of the Master's Series Event's, after Shang Hai there will be a grand winner, but more about that later. ;)

IMPORTANT RULE FOR CHANGING PREDICTIONS: If you grasp a sudden urge to change one or more predictions that you may already have posted, please make a new post, so I am aware of the time it was posted and can validate that the prediction was made before the respective match / matches. (Editing posts makes matters complicated)

I don't think we need the TB and bagel points. It just makes it too complicated.

Also I like what some people suggested that later rounds matches picks are awarded more points. For example double for QF, 4X for SF and 8X for the final. I would prefer this over just picking the winner and runner up before tournament starts.

Don't you feel its a lot easier to predict matches in latter rounds though? As we are more accustomed to watching the top player's play?

I see understand what your saying and the opinion's been noted, shall consider changes TODAY, but lets see what Shadows, Gonzalez, Seffina and co have to say about the new system first.

I agree with gj011 making extra points off TB and bagel will only make things complicated. I really like the idea of picking the winner and runner up but this shall be only limited at the start of the tournament.

I've actually revised my opinion on sliding points to agree with TMs perspective, it's not really like it's really easier to predict the first rounds when you aren't sure on form and have some unknown quantities floating around.

Definately like picking the winner/runner-up pre-tournament though for an extra helping of bonus.

i'm in too but i agree with dropping the tie-breaks and bagels, those variables are just way too random and don't really reflect one's ability to make a good prediction. basically they're just too freaking hard and random.

I do like the additional points for picking the finalists though, i'm all game for that.
