Verdasco´s real racquet?

Which racquet use Verdasco real? I checked some pictures in gettyimages which shows a paintjob of the Tecnifibre T-Fight 320 BUT it´s definitely not the racquet he used at the Australian Open 2009. Any ideas?

Major is the name of the company that owns Tecnifibre. For years Major sold racquets under their own name. Afew years ago Major decided to sell racquets under the Tecnifibre name since the name Tecnifibre has much more brand recognition globally.

Verdasco and Blake don't use the same racquet.

Sure. The racquets name that Verdasco uses is the Major Bullit Elite. It has a 16x19 string pattern.

Who is making them

As in who is the OEM in China?
Major is Tecnifibre. Major is the company that ownes and invented Tecnifibre strings. Major Sports used to sell racquets branded as Major for many many years. About 5 or 6 years ago Major Sports decided to market the racquets as Tecnifibre purely as a marketing move to tie in with the strings.

Isn't the same factory in China doing Babolat/Tecnifibre/Volkl although I understand 1/3 of that line is now not in production.

Thanks you vsbabolat. It seems you are right. I checked the Major Bullit Elite Specs. So Verdasco use a 630cm² head size, 16x19 string pattern and a slighly longer racquet 69,5cm length. It´s hard to find this Major Bullit Elite on the market.

BTW: the white racket Verdasco uses in the picture i posted is the Major X-One Power which is also 16x19 but only 295grams unstrung...

Hey experts, this may be a dumb question, but can you tell me the indicators that verdasco's 320 is a PJ? Or is it off of previous knowledge?

Thanks!

LOL! How strong his Verdasco? :) Just saw him in the second round of Indian Wells and he just absolutely crushes the ball on every shot! What an amazing physical specimen!

Were you able to see the semi-final at the Australian Open? That match with Nadal showed a beat unleashing shots--and I'm not talking about Rafa. Nando was just crushing everything-nearly 100 winners in one match.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to watch the whole of that semi-final, but managed to catch pieces of it. After the match I heard that he did hit THAT many winners, which was an incredible feat. If I ever attend another tournament that Fernando is playing, he'll be the first on my list of people to watch! :) Too bad someone had to lose in a match like that.......

Verdasco is such a heavy hitter. I love it. What is the difference between the 320 V02 Max and what he is using? Or he is actually using the V02 Max now?

Nope not at all, he is still using his older Major underneath, completely different stick, the fact that he is a heavy hitter has little to do with what he uses...

Agree. I own one of the his original sticks (plus a Bullit somewhere in my warehouse, but i've not yet found it :p ) and is slightly longer, with a deeper throat cut and a slightly different shoulder shape/string pattern..and PJ looks like a brighter shade of red than the actual VO2.

Hope to find the way to take some pic and upload ASAP... :)

Cool. I know obviously that the stick is not what makes him a heavy hitter..lol. But people still have their preferences on what stick they get the most spin and control with.

Is their a link for specs on the Major? Just wondered if it was more like a Tfight 335, since Major and TF are the same.

Did the original frame from Major come with different stringing patterns, or just the 16x19? I know that Tecnifibre offered the 320 and 335 with two versions.

I just demoed those technifibre rackets couple month ago. It is way too light. don't know how he generates any power with it...

I'm a stringer for the Italian TF stringers team and my younger brother is a sales rep for TF Italy, whose CEO gave me that frame...as soon as i find the software ì'd pass the pics from my mobile to PC than try to upload...

That's awesome. I am a huge fan of TF, I'm selling my Dunlop to replace it with a 320 V02. I think they make the best racquets out there.

How does Verdasco, or any of the other pros, who use "old" rackets get them for years after they are no longer sold?

By "old" I mean old models but still new rackets.

There was another thread about how many rackets pros get through in a year...

So how do they get their hands on so many old model rackets?!?

They make them specially for the top pro's, Head does this all the time.
The bigger you are the more you can ask.

The short answer is that the company either still produces a limited amount for pros only (Head, Babolat) or has a stock of old frames which I think may be the case with Major but I'm not sure.

Cheers, Orig

Note that there were several Bullit's around, you had a bullit elite symbio, a bullit elite D.T.I which contains titanium and was lighter.
The one the pro's used was the Bullit elite graphite, also used on tour by Arnaud Clement and Sebastien Grosjean around 2000.

Thanks ericsson! nice pic too.

Surprised to see that it's standard length, there've been posts here and elsewhere that it was longer 69.5 or so - thanks for clearing that up.
