Why does Stepanek use the ugliest racquet in the world?

Is it for overall consistency in his look, or is there something magical about that racquet? What is it? I will say: the guy is a magical player.

Yeah i watched him in Brisbane Tournament. He was very fun!

I yelled out 'do the worm' when he won but he didn't :(

To prove to the world looks arent everything. He gets hot chicks with an ugly mug and wins matches with an ugly racquet.

You cannot argue with the results this year after the switch...2 wins, 1 final, other good showings. I saw him in Miami win some great matches (Gonzo) and lose some not so good matches (Verdasco). I know that most on here like to rip him, but I think that he is great. My favorite player by far. Great at singles and doubles, uses all kinds of shots, jumps around like an idiot...just great. I hope that he plays until he's 40.

It is a great design..............

I played with the 85 inch version of the Bosworth {Ceramic WB 210} and it was a very smooth frame. The response was even across most of the string face. Just ask Brad Gilbert he used the 100% Graphite version. I still have one left in my collection.

Obsessed with LOTR much :)

LOL! Just a coincidence, I've seen Radek being compared to Gollum and now this goofy raquet of his known to me as "precious" :)

You summed it up perfectly for me.

The way he commits to fitness and his style of play - I can see him playing into his mid-30's easily.

To all of you dissing Stepanek's looks:

Firstly, he most likely has a hotter gf than you will ever get, so suck on that:)

Secondly, I can bet most of the people on this board are middle-aged or late 30's people who don't have good looks either. So before you diss stepanek's looks, why don't you look at yourself first:lol:

Thirdly, Stepanek makes more money than any on this board, except for maybe a few people. Most people on this board will probably never make a million dollars in their whole life; Stepanek has made over 5 million bucks:shock:. I guess you have a right to be jealous.

I guess you'd have to add Martina Navratilova as using "the ugliest racket" as well..since she now uses and has for quite some time - that same "ugly" racket Stepanek does.

saw Stepanek in the SAP open final and he beat Fish with the "ugly stick". He is annoying though, starts fist pumping his opponents unforced errors like he just hit a winner.

You guys may think it is ugly but it is one of the best rackets in the world. It just hasn't received enough playing time from the public yet. so it is still the unknown. When Babolat started to make rackets, everyone said, they are a string company,,what are they doing making rackets ?? now we all know they make great rackets.
It is same with Bosworth. They just need more marketing and lower the price little bit so mass public can afford to buy their frames...

When did Bosworth go out of business?
On TW site:
***Please note that the Bosworth Collection racquets are no longer in production, with no plans for them to be produced again. Although these racquets are in new, unused condition, it is important to realize that they were manufactured some time ago and are best classified as New Old Stock (NOS). Tennis Warehouse does not guarantee the life of the grommets, grip, bumper guards or any part of the frame of NOS racquets. All racquets are sold as is. No warranties or returns apply to NOS racquets.

I beg to differ, Bosworth is still in business but no longer sell mass produced racquest (not sure about this) rather they sell customized ONLY racquets for pro/club/hobbies.

He is a good player. Probably does not have the marketing backup that gives constant attention to his "IMAGE".

The Bosworth Collection racquets are not the same as the racquet that Stepanek/Navratilova use or that is advertised on the Bosworth website. Personally tried to get a Bosworth Custom and went through the interview/questionnaire process with them in February but have not heard anything further in almost 2 months now. They have not responded to any of my emails. That's why I asked if they were out of business.

You're not alone. I am interested in their custom handles. I emailed them, did a survey....and still got no response for almost 2 months already. I think they didn't pay internet bills.
