we all know that rafa was tired ı have to give credit to roger..

he tried something new in this match and it worked !!!

roger is the only one beats nadal in the clay court finals and also like ending nadal's winning streak :)

novak tried it hard yesterday push nadal really well but ı think roger's tactic was smarter today..thats why he won and novak couldnt..

Grats to Roger. A win is a win. I hope this match gives him some confidence, he is a joy to watch when playing properly.

However, I have this strange feeling that Nadal played better in the semi. I don't know, too hard to compare two matches with different players...

It doesn`t matter if Federer wins his match or looses it,he will never play a 3 setter in 4 hours. If there is something that Nadal should work in his game is finishing the points faster.

I really want to watch Nadals SF Match - does anyone know where I can download it?
I looked on tennis.tv, but they only offer the Finals.

I'm willing to pay a small one off fee to download the match

It was actually a 1 hour match between Fed and Nad and 2 hours vs donkey if you take Nad's buttpicking ritual into account.

But "finishing the points faster" would be a radical change in Nadal's tactics. He wins by fewest unforced errors, not by most winners. Maximizing winners has always been Federer's game. Fed just took it to a slightly more agressive level against Nadal today. Finally.

It wasn't even 4 hours yesterday if you count all the excess... :p

yea of course there shouldnt be !!! a 4 hours match in a best of 3 set match..

it was definetely an exception..but still what ı think is djokovic could have beat nadal yesterday with a smarter tactic just like roger'S one

Spoileredz.

But I guess it doesn't matter since there's 16 threads on this page that say the exact same thing...

I don't think the Novak semifinal is the reason Nadal lost. Federer played brilliantly and totally deserved it.
That must've felt SOOO good for Fed.

Umm... that's what the title means. It means' Novak couldn't do it, and Federer could in less time.

Yes, but i'm saying the reason Federer had an easier time and could do it in less time is because Novak Djokovic tired out Nadal in such a way that it made it easier for Federer to win.

All the credit to Fed, though. A win was not guaranteed and he took the match into his own hands.

Strange that Rafa didn't really put up a fight (by his own standards).

But unfortunely I think Rafa will still in the French. He HAS to! I dont want him to, I want Federer to but I dont see it happening....I Would LOVE this to happen at the french:

Roger to beat Novak in the semis and Roger to take a set off Rafa in the final. That would be good for me.

Maybe if Rafa and Novak worked on taking less time while serving their matches would be shorter. (see Federer)

I suppose you could say that there's two ways to beat Nadal now... although both require so much effort it's virtually impossible to pull off. The first is Djoker style, have a real solid groundie game and a good service, attack 2nd serve, and be patient, be mentally tough, hang in there, and outgrind Nadal. The second is Fed style, huge serving (as in effectiveness, not speed), mental toughness on saving bp's, be aggressive against serve and when trying to convert bp's, then end points quickly. I suppose the fundamental difference is whether you want to end points quick or drag it out. Both work, it just requires almost superhuman efforts...

yea you are right..but roger mixed up his game unlike novak with his drop shots, net game and also his serve was much more effective than djokovic..

djokovic was great yesterday ı admire him,, we all were thrilled with this epic semifinal clash but novak made a mistake by getting involved in this dog fighting with rafa on the baseline..

ı know he was so close to beat him with this approach but even closing it took 4 hours while roger's tactic worked in 1 hour...
