Soderling's racquet

I don't know if there are any previous threads on this. Is this an iPrestige?

Robin uses a PT630 with i.Prestige grommets. The pallet is custom made by Priority 1 and is made from latex and feels like leather. It is really big down at the butt cap. He has two layers of lead tape from 8 to 4 under the cap grommets. He strings it with alu power.

Thanks. Has he had that setup for a long time?

cough.........thank you..... thank you........ I will be taking signatures in a minute:)

The frame is a PT57A which is code name for PT630, the PT630 does not have the tapered CAP which is found on the iprestige MP

BTW I have my buttcaps on my PT630 tapered like Sod to one side as well for my pinky, but not as much as Kaffy that buttcap was a door nob

If Fed is thinking of switching this is the frame he should switch to if he wants to be Nadal, just like Soderling did:):):) and Simon

^^^ with all due respect for greg raven, it is not a MG radical MP for obvious reasons,
Mr. Raven, as far as I know, only refers to the cosmetic visible and is just concerned with giving the specs of the frame. Same thing with Kuznetsova's frame among others on that page.

his handle is definitely square shaped, i guess he doesnt like the rectangular head handles...like me.

Sorry to ruin it for you, but the handle has the shape of a head handle. I practice with him sometimes when he is in Sweden and he gave me one of his racquets to try out. It is quite big, like a 4.5 (europe).

My ranking is 740 in the world so when Söderling is home sometimes his coach sends me a text message and asks if I want to practice.

Yeah, they are heavy, but not suprisingly heavy. The most amazing thing is when you play him he plays so fast and takes the ball so early with his backhand and still hits a heavy ball.

Thanks for the info and the anecdotes. Just one question, if I use the same setup, could I also beat Nadal on clay?

What sort of tension does he use with that Luxilon string?

The swingweight is 384, but where is the portable crane to move that sucka'? ;)

Hey, I dont care if you use it or not.

When Robin is in Sweden I practice with him sometimes and that is why I know what he plays with. No copycat here...

Hey Patrik, I checked you out at atp website (actually noticed this a while back) you moved up to 739, with career winnings of $5g...pretty cool...actually awesome :)

Let me ask, does the Soderling racq you have come with the PT57A code inside the throat? I do have a FXP pj'ed Gilles Simon PT57A, and Soderling racquet appears to be very similar (except that hidden lead tape is at 10-2 on Simon's racq and it is slightly long)

Hahaha... Den där killen som frågade efter det var ju inte riktigt frisk. Träffade Loglo i Spanien när jag var där förra året så jag kommer ihåg vad han lirade med men det räckte tydligen inte för killen.

Sorry about the Swedish guys! :p

I use a kBlade Tour with leather grip and tourna and some lead tape at the top of the racket. String it with Iso-Speed Baseline Speed at 55 lbs. But I am switching racquets so now I am using a Prestige Pro instead. Still do not know if am going to stay with it. I will try the 4D Tour and the new Storm Tour when it will be released.

Go with the Prestige Pro Rosen, it will move you in the top 100 with Big Banger Rought @ 66 by 62! When this happens give me a call I would like to be your coach and follow you in the tour :), good luck!

possibly the right racquet but wrong tension. suggest starting at 55/59 and go from there.

Maybe, I do not know. But no Big Banger for me, it is to expensive. I break to many strings and earn to little on the Future tour to play with them.

suggest Pro Supex Big Ace 1.22 mains and syn gut crosses at 56/58 or 55/57 if u like it softer. lasts long, comfortable tho strings move a bit after broke in. plays better broke in for me.
