Yes she will win a few more
i doubt she will win the French ir Wimbledon
but she always has a chance to win the other two.

Hard to say.It mostly depends on her shoulder, she's still relatively young and funnily enough the field in which she won her slams was tougher than it is now but Maria cant't take advantage of that because she has a chronic shoulder injury.

I'll say 1-2 more slams if she can stay healthy(which is a big if).

i give her chances to win 5 more titles,

wimbledon next year and uso this year and next then ao next 2 years. if she can win 2 of those i would say she did well, im thinking surely she can get one more of those listed before its over

Yes, I think so. The Williams sisters won't be around forever and even if she's not serving well, there aren't too many women in the game right now who are threats to hold their own serves. Sharapova managed to put her serve together and won the AO last year even after the serve problems were evident. She's is just so mentally tough, you can't count her out.

IMHO, it seems that Maria's mind is somewhere else than pro tennis tour. Plus, there are several tanlented women nowadays that make the tour very impredictible.

Although, among those several women, there are a lot of them who have so many peaks and lows in their careers that it's not impossible for her to win another slam.

So, I'd say yes and no:lol:

With so many headcases on tour, yes, I think she's got it in her to win another just on her mental strength alone. But physically, I don't think she's going to be able to go much longer.

if healthy there's no reason not to. as stated before her 3slams came in a time of much more depth in the field.

she just came back from injury and has done pretty well, an early exit at W is not really a big deal.

if her shoulder holds up I see Maria winning 3 or so slams, maybe more.

OP: No. Her so-called skills are laughable and easy to exploit..then, there's her lack of flexibility....any feel or the net...flat-footed....

man, sharapova was so loud (even for her standard) in the last few games against dulko

It's funny how that shrieking works. I mean, I could see how you'd let out a grunt/shriek every now and then when hitting a ball hard. But Maria/Serena/Venus and a slew of others somehow manage to shriek when they're just blooping a ball over the net.

I think she will if she stays healthy, and gets her serve back to a more consistent level (she was never a great server, but she's got to do a little better than she is now).

Her focus and competitive drive are still there, and she's still relatively young.

But, there's no guarantee.

i chose no, but only because i dont want her to. the shrieking and OCD moves she has drive me crazy. Yeah, i said it.

Yes, she's only 22 and the women's tour is not that strong.

Somewhat off topic, why do non-tennis fans still think Sharapova is the hottest female tennis player? We have lots of hotter ones who don't shriek like she does.

I can never bring myself to support somebody who makes so much noise on the court. I think they placed her on Centre Court this morning in order to let her shrieks diffuse throughout the larger stadium before cascading out into the satellite courts.

I'd say no. She might make a few more semis or even a final but I don't think she has the weapons to take down the Williamses or even someone like Safina or Dementieva anymore.

And I'd say she has even less longevity than these

ROTFL at Dementieva. Dementieva is done. Stick a fork in her. OK she isnt totally done but she is done as far as her chances to win a big title. Last year and early this year she was playing some awesome tennis but whenever she comes to the slams she blows it each time. She is 27 now. It just isnt going to happen.

She is 22.
Won slams against some great players.
Who is going to stop her once she is healthy? The Williams are both hitting 30? People are counting Ivanovic, Jankovic, Safina, Kuzzie and brigade for slams..but we are saying Sharapova can't? I mean come on if she can get back on it and play like she did in 04-06 she will be able to grab a few and she was starting to turn around in 08 from her slump in 07 and was grabbing some big title before missing half the season with injury and playing a few tournaments injuried. I could see Sharapova getting another slam easily and would not be suprised if she finishes with 7 or 8.

You guys are crazy!

OF COURSE SHE WILL, just look at how physically intimidating she is on court, some of the girls just bow down to sharapova in matches. She got to the quarters of the French Open by being very inconsistent, and she will have a lot of years ahead of her.
Sure she's not going to be at her top level for a while.

I say at the US Open she will be able to play close to her top form.

I think Venus may well have already won her final slam, but I could see Serena winning slams until 2012. I think Safina and Azarenka will both be superior players to Sharapova in the upcoming years. Kuznetsova and Wozniacki possibly too but I am not as certain about them. There will also be people emerging we dont know about much yet. With all due respect if Maria is able to win 7 or 8 slams in her career it means a continuing sad state of womens tennis IMO, and I dont give up hope it will improve sometime on the horizon.

You say once she is healthy, how do you know she will be fully healthy for an extended period of time (long enough to regain match toughness and sharpness which as her current play indicates is a must for her) when she has barely been healthy for 2 and a half years now. That is a long time especialy for one so young.

and over the past 2 and a half years I believe she has 2 slams..so that shows even if she never becomes completely healthy she can still win slams.

I mean since the start of 2007 is the point starting from where she has almost never been completely healthy (which comes to 2 and a half years). I am not counting as far back as the 2006 U.S Open when she wasnt yet having these injury problems. In this time span she has won only 1 slam. Honestly from 2004-2006 she was a bit lucky to only win 2, losing in so many semis to tough opponents, many very close matches. 2005 AO she was especialy lucky not to win as she really should have won that semifinal over Serena and she overall owns Davenport, and in the final Lindsay was too gassed to play a full match anyway. Conversely though the 2008 AO she got a bit lucky IMO in that Serena bombed, rare for her in AO, Henin wasnt in good form, and the other Russians were collectively at their low point as far as contending.

I don't think so.. even lower ranked players take on her second serve. Maybe it's just a matter of confidence, cause even Sharapova seems less confident when I watch her play these days.

Won't matter to me though if she won't win any other slam. She is probably the only player I trully despise (as a tennisplayer, she'll probably be a nice person).

If she was as invincible as you're suggesting, she would have racked up more slams when she was not injured....but she did not. Being the dominant force of a generation at any slam was not "in the cards" for one of her meager skills.

I despise Jelena Dokic and Jelena Jankovic
but Sharapova's alright and i hope she goes on to win more slams in the future.

marketing brah. That's why I absolutely despise her. I liked her a lot before she won Wimbledon and became a product of the media. Plus, she seems so into her own hype, which makes me hate her more.
